It's hard to do (because often one will feel like the other is ignoring them, but it's my best advice) but do NOT take the relationship to work, i.e., no flirting, no kissing, and honestly (because it's hard not to talk to someone you're into) avoid each other as much as possible.
I don't advocate these actions as a premise for a strong relationship, nor do I advocate dating a colleague, but I am not one to judge (as I met my wonderful, now living-together-girlfriend at work) but I feel that these things need to be accepted for a workplace romance to...well, work. Got to keep work and social life seperate as much as possible.

talking being very commuincative and reiable when you say going to meet BE THERE! No one likes to be stood up ..
talk on the phone..
be romantic
be realistic
money wise do some things free or split the bill
and have patience a lot and listen and ask questions
because men are day and night!
a guy can lie with his lips but he cannot lie with his eyes".look into his eyes if you feel his going to lie or see if his honest..believe me it gets them nervous lol..

first things first love ur partner most important despite there short comings.
second take time to get to know them and listen!! listen to what they trying to tell u.
show understanding, be loyal and patient.
sometimes u just need to pause ur self as a women we so quick to open our mouth to say something that we don't take that millisecond to think.
also don't let love blind u, know how u suppose to be treated, never be totally dependent on ur man (stand on ur own sometimes)
