It seems they would have had a better chance being warned against the deceiver.
If he did warn them about the serpent before the whole fall of Eden thing, please quote the bible verse stating it.

God wanted Adam and eve to trust him. That was actually the test. It was also a test of obedience....

God did not need to warn them about anything not even the tree of knowledge. He knew what they would do. He already had a plan ready so that He could come here and show His love for us.

In the beginning was the Word (Jesus) and the Word was with God and the Word was God.

It was about obedience. It didn't matter which sin or how it was commited. It was a choice to do something God told them not to do. His warning was for obedience and trust. Adam and Eve didn't obey or trust God. The trusted the serpent and obeyed him instead b/c it was more appealing than God's way. Back to the saying "The best things in life never come easy"

God made all of these animals in the garden, and the only one who could talk like Adam and Eve (the centerpiece of his creation) was the serpent. And God, according to this story, didn't think to warn them. Or at least explain to the humans that there happens to be a talking snake slithering around.

Yep!

don't know any bible verses, but I could google if I wanted.
That is just like breaking the law, no one tells you of Big Bubba wanting your cookies when your in jail for commiting a crime punishable by jail time. They law just says, Don't do it or else. They were warned to not eat of the "fruit" or else.
There are consequences to doing everything in life. Some good, some bad. I guess that was a BAD one?

The eating of the "apple" in this story is merely an analogy for a serious violation of one of the proscriptions of Adam and Eve's mission on Earth. They well knew of this proscription but, because of a series complex and difficult extenuating circumstances and nothing but good intentions, they were led astray and violated a serious directive. They "ate the apple."

Because the bible story of this amazing pair was written for primitive minds, thinking people like yourself often raise such good questions. The answers to all your questions about Adam and Eve can be found in the book Adam and Eve - A Tragic Love Story. This is a serious and scholarly work and I highly recommend it to you. Good luck!

It was planned out from the beginning and we won't fully understand that plan until we see God face to face. It was like a test in a way. But what I do understand is that in order for God to be a loving God towards us and also to receive love from us He had to give us a free will to choose to love and obey Him or not. If not we would be robotic. The love would be forced and God doesn't force anything on anyone. He wants us to decide to trust Him. So He put one Law in the garden. And there was only one. Do not touch or eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. He already knew they were going to do it. It is like telling your child not to touch something, and they just can't resist. They knew who the serpent was but in a way because of there innocense they were naive. They didn't know evil. They only knew God's presence. That was always good. I guess you could say they realized what they had in the garden after they were kicked out. He knows the beginning from the end. It was planned out and it was meant to happen for many reasons. They became spiritually dead and needed a saviour. God provided one for us 5000 years later. Jesus made a way for us to have that completeness and wholeness in our spirit again that Adam had before his fall. He didn't tell Adam or Eve because He wanted them to make that decision.

If you have children, when you tell them to do something and they ask why, how do most of us respond? "Because I said so". That is the point. God said "not to". But we did. And thus created the original sin - the disobedience toward God. We should have just has the faith in God to not touch something God tells us not to even if we are tempted. If He says "NO", then that is it.

As far as specifically why, you can only hear the truth from the "horse's mouth". The answer must come from God. Only He knows the real reason....

I wasn't about the warning, it was about obedience and disobedience. God wanted them to love Him and with their obedience they would have showed it to Him. Instead they were disobedient. It is the same now in our relationship with God, obedience is the most important thing to God.

He gave them a direct command not to eat from that tree. They instead listened to a sneaky snake.

Gen 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
