Let’s face it; atheists are the closest thing to super heroes in the world today. After all, we are trying to save the word from fear, ignorance and superstition.

Crusade For Christ - pull your head out of your backside- if you want to start wholesale judging entire sections of society based on the actions of individuals then 'your lot' are f£$"ed' before you even reach the dark ages.
Ah, and Jared. Jared, Jared, Jared. How about, ooh, I dunno, an accurate understanding of the workings of our solar system (it turns out the sun doesn't go round the earth, whoda thunk it?), Penicillin, aircraft(complete with instructions rather than proclamations of "It's a miracle!"), oh yeah, and the medium by which we're sharing information right now. That box of lights in front of you doesnt run on faith you know...
And as for you, Lovin' the Lord. While your 'Lord lovin', it turns out many Priests are loving something much more earthly, and er, younger... ...I'd keep your aspersions w/regards sexuality to yourself if I were you...
As to the original question- I don't think my scrawny frame in spandex is a sight I'd wish to impose on the rest of the world.

I am also an atheist and don't you just love all of the people that bring up the horrible people that were atheists. Gee let me thinks has anyone ever done something bad and also were Christian. What about the Crusades, Salem Witch Trials. Oh yeah nothing has ever turned out bad with religion, just like ol' George W. Bush saying that "GOD" told him to go to war in Iraq, you know I didn't know "GOD" was returning messages now-a-days. Oh yeah that's right Bush is taking advice from a non-existant voice. Religion is nothing more than hope of eternal life for those at are scared about death and scare to truly live their lives. I am very proud to be an atheist and wish more people could learn to live without a make believe crutch...P.S. I would love a cape or maybe just a nice bumper sticker...

first off i am atheist and were not saving anyone from anything as far as i'm concerned and i don't preach to people about how they shouldn't have a religion they can have a religion if they want for it doesn't bother me what they believe why does it bother you? and is it just that you wish to feel famous or that your helping someone by not believing? i mean if your going to be atheist whatever thats your choice but don't you think you should be that way for the right reasons rather than feeling the need to supposedly help people when your not sure about anything either?

Hey, wear anything you want. But as a woman who does not believe in any god or religion, I think self-professed atheists are a waste of time because they just become part of the cycle of religion. Please, how is the word God on something going to hurt anyone? I live my life, free of ideology and theology. I am not an atheist. I simply do not believe.

Real heros aren't glory hounds. I think we can do without the capes and spandex. I do though think it's funny that we don't push our views onto others, but it's ok for them to do the same?

It sounds sarcastic enough. But fear, ignorance and superstitious thinking are inherently worth recognizing as detrimental to human development and mans welfare in this modern age of knowledge .Whether you glibly respond or take it seriously doesn't alter this . So where is my cape ?

A little cautionary advice:

All the guys that have played Superman in the past, have met with some strange deaths. Well, the last one lived, but his injuries from the accident were still the root cause of his death.

DO IT! Black capes are the classiest and maximum mysterious yet pink seems extra noble. i could bypass with black whether it is your decision. in case you do placed on a cape, be certain you bypass around making WHOOSH noises everywhere you bypass. that is almost a prerequisite.
