Hon, right now all you can do is, wait until all the dental work is done. Perhaps then they'll go down. They are likely irritated due to the work on them.

I usually recommend a water pick to get between those hard to reach areas that a tooth brush may not be able to get especially when you get braces. They are cheap, $30 at walgreens. You should be brushing for 2 min and flossing once a day. You should notice your gums going back to normal if you keep it up within 10 days. Hope this helps.

I had this problem with my braces and gums and it didnt help that I have small teeth, It painful as hell when it come to the adjusments and stuff! My ortho told me to get some cordsyl gel, it very cheap you either rub it on your gums twice a day or brush teeth / gums area with it, as well as your normal brushing routine. It tastes like stomach bile but it does work , after a couple of weeks of useing it you will notice a difference. link below is of product.

my teeth were like that when i had braces, remember to floss (where you dont have spacers) brush really well but not really hard because you could be brushing too hard, and get some listerine. also use a softer brush

make sure you brush and floss really well at the orthodontist whenever they take your wire out to adjust it.

it could be where your teeth are movin too

Make sure you brush at the base of your teeth, and make sure you floss. And when you floss, get really into your gum. They will bleed the first couple of times, but it will make them less puffy. Good Luck.

With everything going on in your mouth, you are not able to clean and floss well. That is why your gums are irritated.Once you are done with dental work, your gums will be back to normal. For now,you need to have a good cleaning done by your general dentist.Rinse with antibacterial mouthwash.

IF YOU HAVE PUFFY GUMS AND BRACES BUY AND USE A WATERPIK MACHINE TO CLEAN YOUR TEETH AND BRACES EACH AND EVERY DAY. THE SWOLLEN AND PUFFY GUMS WILL GO AWAY WITHIN A WEEK OF USING THIS MACHINE.
ps. everyone in your family can also use it
