Jesus said:
MATHEW 17:20- For truly, I say to you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you.
MATHEW 21:21- I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and it will be done. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.
JOHN 14- "I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it."

When anyone starts a sentence or a parable with "I tell you the truth", beware. You are about to get a wagon load of BS.

The yes - no - wait thing is entirely made up based on the fact that every prayer will always seem to have been answerwed that way.
It's impossible for any question to get any other answer even if you prayed to a rock. So it's just a made up apologetic.

James 5:16
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
Proverbs 15:29
The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous
1 Peter 3:12
For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.
--The kyeword in these passages is 'righteous'--

there is a CONDITION, and someone Jesus is TALKING TO.
TALKING TO: his disciples. So, first, you have to be a disciple of Jesus, wanting to do his will, therefore, it implies God will not answer anything against His Word or His Will; or if you are not following Jesus.
CONDITION: You fail to understand the condition: to have FAITH. Which faith is Jesus talking about? faith in God, according to Heb 11:1 and 6, " Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen", "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."
So, you have also to believe in God, and that He is a good God.
That way, prayers will be answered. For instance, see the life of George Mueller:

I thought about that, If you do pick up a mountain, what are you going to do with it? It is probably better to leave it where it is.
Now, metaphorically speaking... ask any drug addict that has overcome their addiction, most believe in a Supreme Being, and have moved the "mountain" of their addiction.

I think you are approaching prayer from a faulty perspective. Prayer is something that brings us into relationship with God, and helps us keep our lives grounded in God. You are taking sections of scripture, out of context, and using them to say prayer is only utilitarian, and done for basically selfish purposes.

The references you made are in the instructions given to the Nation Israel, and they DID have a "prayer of faith" , "ask and it will be done for you" situation with Him.
We are no longer in that program today. God changed programs and put Israel temporarily ASIDE to introduce the age of GRACE, or "Christianity".
Our situation with God today has to do with "my grace is sufficient for you." We are not told to pray as Israel did, nor are we to expect that God will DO whatever WE ask of Him.
This is why one must make the proper distinctions that God makes in His Word, and follow Gods instructions in 2 Tim 2:15 as to how to understand where OUR instructions for today are found.
Mt, Mk, Lk and Jn are instructions to the Kingdom saints IE: the Nation ISRAEL, and not to we who are the church , the Body of Christ today. That program is no longer in operation and God has told us that in His Word.
So, you see, its NOT made up. Its IN the scriptures, but those instructions are not OUR instructions today. They WERE the instructions for Gods program with the Nation Israel in times PAST and ages to COME.
I hope this helps.

Yes those references are definately true, but have you ever thought about the fact that if God answered all our prayers the way we want it, it would not be good for us? And no it would pbly not be a happy world....

"Jesus answers prayers ..." is not supported by your three verses about faith.
All these verses follow miracles.
Answer: Why do you quote a few sentences when Jesus used paragraphs?
