Yes you could but it will give you many dis-advantages. If you do this, you will lose your GI Bill and get a reserve forces GI Bill, which is less than the active duty GI Bill and not only that, you get first dibs to get to Iraq or Afghanistan if you are reserves.
Second, your medical and dental coverage are less and you have to pay more than half of the deductible, while if you are active it is free.
Third, you will have to do longer terms in the reserves than you would if you were in the active duty if you later work for the government and trying to get retirement.
However, the answer is yes, you can switch.

You will not be able to change your MOS most likely. You will probably be able to get Airborne if you go active but the MOS you get will be the one you keep. If you want Infantry, Check with the National Guard they have most of the combat arms slots in the Reserve component. I went to basic training when I was 17 for the Guard and I'm active now. I have never regretted it.

Stay active. The reservist are the ones who keep getting sent to Iraq.

you can 'palace chase' (as it's referred to) after two years. but you owe them 4 years in the guard (assuming you signed a 4 year enlistment).

Yes, but your MOS might change.

Reserve units do not have all the mos's that the active force has.
