Well drug abusers must use more and more of the drug of choice. An addiction is no fun when the supply is cut off. I know I was on Vicodin for about 7 years with a prescription and when I was finally taken off of it I suffered headaches, dizziness, shakes and was just plain miserable, tremors and sweats. (At the end, I required at least 6 Vicodin to mitigate some of my pain. And my prescription called for 1 every four hours. So I should have been taking 6 per day, At the end I was taking 36 a day.

As a chronic pain sufferer who has been on Lortab & now Percocet for 12 years, I can't tell you what it does as far as a "high" goes because it helps relieve some of my pain from 3 back surgeries. However, I can tell you that it IS addictive & it is NOT good for your liver in large quantities or over long periods of time. Just don't go down this road. You may live to regret it.

Percocet is an opiate, therefore many feel euphoric if taking these beyond the prescribed dosage. Abuse is if you are taking them recreational and addiction is if you take them 24-7. And yes, you can damage your liver.......trust me any addiction to an opiate is miserable.........its not worth the recreational use and its unfortunate for those who need the pain med's for valid reason's and they may also end up with addition. so if using for prescribed reason's, keep them to the prescribed dosage only. As with any drug, tolerance is a big problem, the effect of drug lessens and more drug is required for the relief (or in case of user the "high")

I recently had extensive throat surgery and had percocet for a few days, then had to switch to Vicodin. The percocet was too much and made me feel just way too out of it.

All of the tylenol in percocet takes a toll on your liver, especially at large doses over time. Initially i would get chatty after taking it. It worsened my depression over time. I was glad to get off it.
You know you are abusing it when you take it because you have it as oppossed to really needing it.

The same as if you take it for pain. It makes you sleepy if you're just chilling, but if you're doing housework or any type of physical activity (for example, I wait tables) it makes you hyper as hell. It just depends.
