Obviously, modesty is a given. That being said....

High fashion? Fair trade? Wealthy? Cumbersome? Elegant? Poor?

This is just my personal opinion and experience but modesty is only the beginning. God will convict his people to hear his will. But, clothing, make up and jewelry are so closely intertwined with pride -- which God hates a proud face -- that as a christian grows in the spirit of Christ they will or may decide to omit or lessen certain parts of their appearance or dressing habits.

We Christian women should put on the whole armour of God, this armour includes how you are percieved in the world.

I think its all based on the person. If she dresses in a way to make a man sin by looking upon her with lust, she is also in sin. If she is buying extremely high cost clothing and not paying her tithes this is a sin as well. If she is souled out for God, then God will convict her heart on what to wear. I used to wear tube tops tight jeans, short skirts, and extremely costly clothes, but when I got saved I became embarressed of my flesh showing and felt like it was disgraceful to God, so I dress a lot more modestly now. This is just my personal experience..Thanks for the question.

The idea is that God would rather woman not wear anything that is going to "distract" men from the word of God. However, He also knows that sin is going to result no matter what a woman may be wearing because we are sinful by nature.

There really is no right or wrong answer to this question. It is really up to the person and what their intentions are.

Well I'm not going to look for links but use this principle. Pauls says that Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; (Corinthians 6:19). Basically dress like God is in you that he'd feel comfortable.

God wants you to be yourself....He really doesn't care so much about the outside as the inside....But I think aside from your suggestion of modesty, II would suggest that when you leave the house, you should remember that you represent HIM.

A Christian woman should dress in the fashion of the day, and keep it modest. We are to live IN the world, but not OF the world. Meaning, we should blend in, but not obsess about our appearance.

she should dress modestly, decency and propriety, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God. 1 Timothy 2:9
they should also dress not in tight clothes to that when men see them they begin to sin becuz of them. dress so that no man looks at u lustfully.

Well I suppose god's original plan was for everyone to be naked. Remember adam and eve? Apparently he later revised that but that's neither here nor there. I'd provide a photo link but yahoo would probably kick me off.
