Rumors are that that next gen Tib will get a 300+ hp v8 and rear wheel drive, effectively turning a sport compact into a muscle car. Is this good for the Tiburon? What will be the impact on the sport compact and muscle car segments? What will this do for Hyundai?

I think its good if Hyundai also creates a new sporty 2-door car to replace the Tiburon. Personally I think since this new car will be so much different it should have a new name since it is totally different then any Tiburon ever built. Its still way too early to tell what direction this car may go, since it won't be released for about 2 years or more. On the other hand I think its great that Hyundai is building this car because it will help create additional volume for their new V8 engine and rear drive platform, both will be shared with next years Genesis car. I bet the Veracruz will have a V8 option sometime in 2009 also...now when will they put out a mid-size pickup?

I also heard those rumours that the new Tiburon will be affected by the new full-sized sedan hyundai will make ( Which concept is called the Genesis) I'm sure that the Genesis will be launched in North American market by the end of 2008 but I'm not quite sure that the 300+hp sports car will be out there.
P.S.: You can expect anything from Hyundai as they made enormous strides in a few years so I guess these rumours are true.

I have had alot of customer ask about the new Tiburon and they are really excited about them... I think this will be a good turn for the Tiburon. They are also coming out with a Super Charged Tiburon, and kits for the super charger. To answer another question, I have heard rumors that Hyundai is coming out with a diesel pick-up in the next couple of years.

The V8 is still not confirmed, however the 300+ out put is. That is an optional motor, whether it be from the 3.8L V6 or 4.6L V8 is still unkown. The base engine is a turbo 2.0L 4cyl. There is absolutely no plans for a supercharged Tiburon.

My sister has an 03 Tiburon GT. Its a niiice car. Looks great, runs great, she has 62K miles on it and it runs great. Take car of it and you should be fine. The 2003 models did have a defect in the clutch though, so remember that. But as long as the Tiburon your getting is a 2004+ it'll be fine. All of Hyundai's cars have those killer 10year/100,000mile warranty. So that should make you feel better. The 2007 Tiburons are SEXXXY.

I heard about it too. I think its a good idea because the Tiburon needs to keep up with competitors like the Mazda RX-8, Audi TT, and Nissan 350z.
