I am babysitting my 12 year old nephew for 12 days. his mother out on a trip.

I ask him to do things, he never listens. I told him put away the dishes and he said "go hump a dog *****". its been 3 days now and he still never took a shower and I told him too and he said "make me you cow". He never listened to me once, does not go to bed the time I told him and always uses cusses and cusses towards me.

So I put a soother in his mouth and put a diaper on him, I treat him like a little baby and cuddle with him if he was a 2 year old. I even give him the routine of I give him a long bubble bath at 7:15, I scrub his hair and take him out at 7:45 and give him a lotion massage until 8:00, then tuck him into bed and kiss him goodnight.

I think he is getting extremely emberrased, I phoned his mom and told him what I am doing and she is fine with it.

Is this a ilttle too harsh, or is it what I should continue.

I also do not let him outside without me holding his hand.

That is SUCH a line of crap... first off, if a 12 year old were giving you LIP SERVICE as you say and acting totally rude and obnoxious to you, there would be NO WAY he would sit there and ALLOW you to "put a diaper on him" and if you think I would believe he actually sucked on a pacifier, you DEFINITELY are kidding... if you are going to tell a WHOPPER of a tail, the LEAST you could do it make it a bit more believeable--this is a total fiction-filled tale and not even very well told...try again.

OMG... I have a 10 year old son and a 16 yr old son and I would be on a fast plane home to kick your butt! And then I would kick my own butt for raising a disrespecting child! What kind of adults are you? No wonder he's so messed up! If you could physically put him in a diaper, you should have come up with a fitting punishment.....dishes by hand, laundry, mop the floors. I hope you never have children and your nephew tells an adult what happened. I will be reading about you tomorrow in the papers sweetie!!!

Kudos on the creative discipline, but...umm....

That was definitely NOT the best way you could dealt with that. Just tell him that you aren't going to put up with his crap, and tell him that you will respect him when he respects you.

In the mean time, tell his mom she has her work cut out for her....this kid is ruthless!

Feeling for you.... ;) Hang in there!

Can you say child abuse? Report yourself or turn the child over to someone who knows how to care for a 12 year old.

I can think of about 10000 ways you could have handled that better.

Any one that objected to the way you handled this never had to handle the A@$-hole like him themselves. You did right. Job well done!

i think thats great because some kids dont respond to threats and yelling, so if he wants to act like a baby treat him like one!

also if his mom knows and is fine with it then you are doing right
