It is true that it takes time for you eyes to adjust to the new prescription. It is because it is stronger than what you are used to seeing, that it is difficult to see, but as you get used to them, you will be able to see better.

Yes it is true that it might seem blurry or more likely, really close up. The glasses change the way light reflects off of the retina in your eye from how the light normally would. Now before glasses, your eyes are used to shining light at a certain point in your eye but when you put glasses on, you are changing that which shocks your brain a little. Your eyes are actually part of your brain organ and are the only parts of your brain visible to the outside world. Because your eyes are directly connected to your brain, they are also arguably the most sensitive. Your brain takes a little while to adjust and interpret the new messages being sent to it via all the nerves and receptor cells in your eyes but this shouldn't take longer than a few days. If your problem persists after this I would contact your eye doctor.

I have never had that problem. My new glasses were always better then my old ones. I started wearing glasses when I was 16, I am 65 now. My distance vision has gotten better as I have aged, went from 20/70 when I was a kid to 20/40 now. It has not changes in the last 10 to 15 years. My biggest problem of getting used to new glasses was when I had to go to bi-focal, took a bit of getting used to. The latest glasses I have gotten are Very-flux. They just go from distance to everything in between until they hit to where I can read. Those took a bit of getting used to.
Let us know your experience.

I guess it's true. The world looks kinda funny to me when I get new ones. I probably wouldn't have said blurry, but something's not quite right for a day or so.

If your eye doctor told you that I would consider getting a new one. I have been wearing glasses since I was two years old and that has never happened to me.
Good Luck !

the real answer is...
yes, sometimes for some people. ALL people do not need to "get used" to a new rx, but some people do. it depends on the Rx.
nearsighted people almost always see awesome instantly thru a new rx.
but everyone else (farsighted people, astigmatic people, presbyopic people) can sometimes see blurry until they "get used to" the new Rx.
so it really depends on your individual Rx...

Yes its very true. You have to get used to it little by little. Dont wear em for 5 hours straight. Take little breaks and massage your eyes :)
