No, he doesn't. God doesn't allow or disallow anything.

God doesn't exist. Religion is just superstition.

Specifically looking at the verse you provide, I don't see a fit for lottery = sin, so I'd say no. Another good definition of sin can be found at Galations 5:19-21, and again, I don't think playing the lottery would fit into any of those sins listed. However, I have to agree with some of the other posts, what's your heart say or feel about it regarding your intentions with playing the lottery. Then you could possibly label it as sin.

Well, IF you play occasionally and don't "HAVE TO" and don't USE THAT as an addiction, then all I can say is: It's legal and that money, in the hands of a true Christian would be tithed, part given in offerings to some godly cause and then the rest of it blessed and allowed to be used just like God would want ALL your money used; honestly and responsibly.
"Playing the lottery" is one thing, but addicted to it is MOST of the problem. Like ANY gambling, you lose much more than you will ever win and the "odds" are so negative and against you, why bother unless you buy maybe 10 tickets on 100-million dollar prize. Otherwise it is wasting God's money!

The Bible is very out spoken against trying to get rich quick. Only God can determine if you can handle wealth and give it to you. Yes gambling does much more harm to society than it ever did good. If you want to get wealth for the wrong reason then it would be better if you don't get it. Take the money you would spend on the lottery each week and put it in the bank. You will be surprised how fast it grows.

It is not sin to be rich.
God allows you to choose to do what you want.
Nothing wrong in wanting to be rich. But the question is, will you forget who got you rich and not pay your thithes?
I don't know if playing the lottery is sin. But I do know that God says to stay away from all apperance of evil.

The short version is yes. The real question is, is gambling a sin. It does depend on your motive. If you put the lottery before God, or if you deny the provision of God that would be a sin.

God ALLOWS you to do whatever you want, because he made you so you have the right to chose for yourself. Quite frankly there is nothing wrong with most things in life, if they do not hurt another human being, take what is needed from your family and causes you to act in a self-destructive way.

That being said....I find the lotto a fools dream land. I would rather spend my $2 on an ice cream cone for my kids. At least I have created lasting memories for them.

It would be easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than a rich man to inherit the Kingdom of God... Don't store up riches on earth when He is peparing a mansion for you in Heaven. God allows you to do what you please, it is your decision to follow Him or reject Him. My friends, the Son of man is coming soon as is told in the Bible. Jesus is your only salvation. Repent. Believe. Rejoyce. Pray.

All forms of gambling would be related to the casting of lots or something similar in the Bible. The Bible shows that we should earn from sowing in work and other methods. Gambling though not stated directly in the Bible, is mentioned indirectly as something Christians should not do.

Get rich by finding employment and investments that will earn you the money honestly.

Anyone who wastes money on lottery/scratch tickets is 2 fries short of a Happy Meal. It's a rip off...the odds...gag.

Personally, I think gambling is like drinking alcohol. If you can just buy a ticket or two and leave it alone; what's the harm? But if you can't be happy with just that one or two, oh are you in for a world of hurt!
