The theme is always the same, but the dream varies. It is sometimes one tooth or sometimes many teeth. But it is always painless and very upsetting. If they're not all just coming out, I usually try to put one back and can't figure out which way to face it. Is this like one of those dreams that many of us have like falling or flying?

It is a common dream as far as I know. I've heard it means you feel as if you have said more than you should have. -Things that shouldn't come spilling out of your mouth and leave you feeling...well...awkward.

Hmmm...

I have often had dreams of losing my teeth. To be honest, you can get a general description of what this means through any of the dream dictionaries, but the answer may not be quite right for you.

Personally, when I dream of my teeth falling out, it is during a time when I am feeling very nervous and am afraid that some particular need will not be met.

Teeth give us the ability to chew our food, so they are a survival tool. When they fall out this takes away something needed to meet a very basic need. Often there is great fear correlating with this dream. It might be that you are worried about going into a particular place, or perhaps in the morning you know that you cannot pay for an important bill and it feels like everything is going to fall apart and there is nothing you can do to stop it.

Could you have a tendency to speak freely and regret saying certain things often? The dream could be commenting on the little things you say (one tooth) or the many things you say (many teeth). It's always painless but upsetting - this is emotions, as emotions are physically painless but mentally disturbing. Maybe you just can't help what you say and can't figure out the right way or how to take it back?

this means a tooth fairy just visited a place near your home. as u know, according to myth and legend, tooth fairies exchange gold or wishes for a tooth if u hide it under your pillow. probably, u just had a divine visitation and unknowingly, as u dream, you subconsciously realize it and want to drop a tooth. otherwise, it could be due to the geas of some tooth fairy is on you and u dream of dropping teeth. to ward off such deities, it is best to use a magic talisman from the temple or find a stone in a shape of a cross, known to ward off leprechauns and fairies alike.

Dreams of losing teeth are often dreams of embarrassment or potentially embarrassing situations. The parallel waking experience could be summed up in the phrase "losing face" publicly.

This is not a good dream and you should not speak openly about bad dreams lest they happen. Apparently it means the death of a family member (God forbid); if the tooth came from the upper jaw they're from the father's side, and if it's from the lower jaw, the mother's side. Basically, there are problems with your family in terms of sickness or separation from them. Your trying to put them back means you're trying to reconcile familial conflicts and or friction.

I have the same sort of dream, only mine keep crumbling and the whole time I'm really furious with myself for not having taken better care of them, because they're irreplaceable. My interpretation is this:

1. It's a stress dream--whatever your daily hassles and stressors are, they come out here (literally) as something you can't control.

2. It relates to a particular fear or anxiety you may have (e.g., you feel out of control in your relationships, job, life, etc.) and actually embodies that sense of lost control.

I am not trying to scare you but you shouldn't take this dream lightly. The women in my family have always warned against this dream. They have always been correct too. It's a bad dream signifying a really heavy loss - death or illness. There's nothing much you can do about it, except prepare yourself (emotionally, financially etc). You can try praying if you're religious.
