OIL the most. If any one says it otherwise, its plain hypocrisy!

There're also other reasons like, regional domination, Iran, Syria and to give more support to Israel. But mainly OIL!
Such a shame!

It's "the war that had to happen"

It doesn't take a political genius to see that there is a massive rift in the world between Islam and the rest of the world, mostly propogated by a few radical Islamic countries and certainly not representative of all Muslims but a rift that fueled by fanatacism and circumstance has been coming to the boil for some time.

It's easy to put the war down to oil and religion, but in reality the threat that the west poses to the power base of many Islamic groups who's power is based on faith and tradition is only equalled by the threat that the fanatacism of the Muslims poses to the indifferent cultures of the west.

As it stands, there is no cooperative solution, there is no compromise. Iran's recent moves towards nuclear capability are possibly the biggest threat to global security since the arms race of the cold war because Ahmenidjad is probably one of the only political leaders radical and unpredictable enough to actually press the red button and risk the consequences.

It is a terrible tragedy that we can't live together in peace, but as things stand unless the silent majority which supposedly exists in the Muslim world rises up and ceases power from the fundamentalist minority which is supposedly orchestrating the global crisis the only reaction that can exist is a war led by the USA.

I personally do not hate Muslims, nor do I fear them, I believe that the majority of them ARE good people and that if those good people would show the same committment that their radical brothers show in their war against the west to take power and show the world that they truly are good people then the world will gain a great deal from the wisdom of the quran.

But that's why there is a war...

What does this war have to do with 9-11????
Saddam hated the Taliban and al queada!
The terrorists were from Saudi Arabia!
Don't any of you Bush supporters know how to think for yourselves?
The war in Iraq was a piece of the Bush agenda from day 1.
Bush promised congress that the oil in Iraq would pay for his war. It hasn't yet so he can't leave, that's about it.

How else are the military supposed to try out their new toys?

I love the way the thumbs down come out whenever someone suggests wars are fought for any other reasons than those stated by politicians. Of course, these are the same morons who think history starts with the birth of christ half the time- they probably think the peloponesian war was some wacky fight between trained parrots. Wrap yourself in the stars and stripes and sing a little louder- drown out that pesky, intrusive truth- it's not like its your life being wasted, after all...

I challenge the uninformed to show me one bit of proof* that this war is about oil. (I know I can do it, but I bet you you're just repeating liberal BS)

It could be about the stated reason of WMDs, Saddam wouldn't let Americans inspect to verify if he did or did not have WMDs, but I believe that's just political reasoning and isn't the main objective

Originally It wasn't about the Iraqi people. With the exception of certain minorities they were better off without the war. But now Coalition presence is the only thing stopping a full out genocide

Overall, I believe this war is about destabilizing Middle-eastern volatile interests which could potentially threaten US assets at a later date and time.

The primary reason for this war is 9-11
The US gov is currently looking to kick some world terrorists organizational behind. We are in a war with terrorists. I am just as sick as everyone else about wars in behalf of payback...and I am the last to ever want to keep this stuff up..but if somethang don't be did we gonna be up our behinds in arabs.

we're in this war because the iraqi citizens are being treated like ****. they're being over run by a group of people who think they are better than everyone else. they're strapping bombs on their kids. they're setting up bombs not for american soldiers but for their own citizens. we're fighting this war because they need our help. it doesn't have anything to do with oil or 9/11 for that matter. and for people who don't support the war, go ahead and take my hubby's place in iraq. how would you like to live a year and a half without seeing your family while all you hear is constant morter rounds and have to look at children who are so badly beaten that you can barely look at pictures of your own children. for anyone who won't stand behind the troops, go ahead and stand in front of them. and just remember, they're the reason you have the freedoms that you do, because someone had the balls to stand up for what was right.

There is no reason for this or any war'other than it is the will of mankind to destroy each other while the y destroy what God created' untill we learn to get along with ourselves 'we can't find peace with others' 'yes some say we are at war to help those victimized by terror' so perhaps we fight to protect ourseves'

For oil mainly but Saddam got a bit out of line hence the present situation. If Saddam had not been stopped, half the world's nations' economies would be in chaos.

Oil and politics. No other war is fought for any other reason then that. The excuses of freeing millions of people, giving them democracy, dethroning a dictator are all valid, but not the main reason for our current wars. They are the ones above.
