The insurance payment is to reimburse you for your loss! If you do not repair the car, the funds are yours to pay for the diminished value of the vehicle.
If you can live with a dinged up car, keep the money! You can cash the check, and use the money for any purpose you want!

It's your car, it's YOUR decision if you fix it or not. Your insurer is obligated to pay you and/or the lein holder the cost to return the vehicle to as near pre-loss condition as possible. If you don't repair the car you could run the risk of losing your comprehensive coverage, meaning that if something else happened, like theft or fire, you won't be covered. If you have a collision before it's repaired the existing damage will be DEDUCTED from the repair costs, i.e; paint, replacement panels, etc. I suggest you wait at least a month before you attempt any repairs. The sun will 'draw out' many, many small depressions on really hot days. You will be shocked at the number of small dents that will disappear, though the larger ones are here to stay.

AS LONG AS YOU ARE THE OWNER AND THERE ARE NO LIENS ON THE VEHICLE, YOU CAN DO WHAT EVER YOU WANT WITH THE CHECK.
HOWEVER DON'T LATER TRY THIS HAIL CLAIM AGAIN SINCE THE INSURANCE COMPANY WILL HAVE PICTURES OF IT.
IF YOU TRY TO FILE AN ADDITIONAL CLAIM LATER FOR HAIL DAMAGE IT WILL BE A LITTLE DIFFICULT FOR YOU AND THE INSURANCE COMPANY TO PAY WHEN THE FIRST DAMAGES WERE NEVER REPAIRED.

if you don't have the repairs made they will drop the comp coverage or what ever covered it ,and they,ll drop it down to liability only,so you need to have it repaired if possible,id deposit the check, and wait till i had all the money to repair it with,as long as you repair it its not fraud, other wise next time it gets damaged they will notice that it wasn't repaired from the last time, and probably wont pay of on it again, good luck on it.

I dont know what state you live in, but here in California, you never have to fix your car at all. The claim just gets you money to get your car back to normal, it doesnt matter what you do with it. A lady backed into me at the beginning of the summer and I bought me a nifty new laptop with the check.

you do with the money as you want they could care less really...as long as they're satisfied that you had actual damage then you're good....if the damage was higher than the deductible then they would subtract that amount....It's odd that you make it sound like you have to pay that

You are free to do anything you want as the money is yours. You don't have to fix the car if you don't want to. You have been paid for the damage. what you do with the money is your choise.
