Why is it OK for people to believe that all illegals are Mexican. Or that all Latinos living in the US are illegal? This is just plain stupid. Only about half of them come from Mexico yet whenever some one talks about illegal immigration you rarely ever hear anyone speaking about any other country besides Mexico. Heck not too long ago a there was a Black illegal from Brazil on this forum and I clearly remember another White illegal from Poland. There is nothing that I find more irritating than ignorance to basic facts.

I highly doubt all of the non-Mexican illegals left since that article was printed

I'm just tired of harmless yet very random questions like "Do you like tacos"? being asked in an immigration forum

Outrageous your logic makes no sense. You just said that I said that it isn't just Mexicans that contribute to the all the problems caused by illegal immigration since not all illegals are Mexican. What am I saying now? Not all illegals are Mexican. You can try to confuse me with more complex syntax later b/c it isn't going to work at the moment.

I think it is usually because of 2 things:

1. the majority of undocumented are Latino. Most people see Latinos and assume they are all Mexican.

2. The latino culture is so different than ours, it stands out. So, by having a different language, different sorts of music, and, a different culture, they are most easily recognized.

It is silly, but, I think it is basically based on these 2 things.

The problem is people just believe and type without thinking and analyzing their own answer or question. I even do this when I'm in a hurry to answer/ask. But it is all a learning process and you could go back and look at your answer/question and see your mistakes. Imagine if these answers/question could also be in audio/video you might even learn a lot more. Or think of how your family & friends would think of your answer/question.

I even start thinking all illegals are mexican when the majority according to your sources are from different countires if you add up the other counties and compare them to mexican illegals they would be the minority. And I seen someone say your sources were old. so what just times them by 2 same difference.

Even when minorites think all white people are racist they need to stop and reversre that thought. It would be nice if they invent something that changes your skin color like your hair color or eye color you just add it to a bath lay in it for an hour and your a different color and can now live in another persons skin for real so you can see how people treat you even maybe your own family.

Not all illegals come from Mexico but when we have 20% of the population from Mexico it does give a sense that a good majority of the illegals are Mexican. When we watched those marches in both May of 2006 and 2007 the majority of flags were Mexican flags. I know that that all Latinos are not illegal, but I do not know how you can change the perception, but as long as you have marches where the majority of marchers are demanding amnesty with Spanish signs and with flags from mostly Latin American counties it's a hard thing to do

PS I live in Miami and here, most think that all Lationos are Cuban, so their is no way to convince anyone of anything different

What you need to understand is that people are tired of illegal immigration. More than likely it is people that live in areas like California that are singling out Mexicans because there's more of them there than any other country.

It angers me that a Mexican just has to get pregnant, walk/get transported into US, have child, then start demanding government service handle everything for her, then just have more children, for taxpayers to pay for, meanwhile the rest of the PLANET wait patiently in line. Scream more about rights, money, and services Mexicans are trying to steal on a grand scale. Imagine a huge portion of the Mexican population screaming for all this at once. How do you get here from any other country, illegally. A lot harder than that. Bah, no mi dogies.

People try to say they aren't racist or prejudice. They try to say that illegal immigration isn't a race issue YET I personally know of someone here RIGHT NOW who is an illegal immigrant from Scotland who over-stayed his work visa & married an American YET he receives NONE of the hateful comments, ugly stares or vicious attacks that many Hispanics, legal OR illegal have to deal with. WHY?! Because he is white with light hair & eyes. Another interesting note...when he talks people just think his accent is so CUTE! People ask, "Oh, where are you from?" "How long have you been here?" Do you think anyone even THINKS to ASK him if he's legal? Of course not! A WHITE PERSON wouldn't be here illegally, right? Guess again. When America thinks "illegal immigrant" I can promise you it's a brown-skinned, Spanish-speaking man that pops into mind. It's racism, whether we choose to acknowledge it or not.

I hate truth suggests! I am a man in my midtwenties and simply hate the suggestion of individuals being obsessed over those crappy suggests. They're a whole waist of time and mind cells, I'd as a substitute sniff glue and hit my feet with a hammer whilst looking Oprah(who I additionally hate) than watch Idol. Anyone with me? Probably no longer.

Spazz you know me and you know I respect you so don't take offense ok?

Most talk about Mexico because that's the largest population of illegals here. What most don't understand tho is that OUR government has encouraged it because of our trade deals under the name of NAFTA. Yes you are right Latino's aren't the only ones here.Just here in greater numbers. To begin to understand illegal immigration people need to get to the root of what caused it.Both Pro's and Anti's need to realize this is an issue of national scope. And it's but the tip of the iceberg. We all need to realize we're being used to further a far scarier agenda than illegal immigration.

EDIT: Spazz Outrageous is trying to make the point of how our government turns OTM's loose.Yes that's an actual term by the government. As per my e-mail to you also check into that.He meant no harm he was actually trying to be helpful to your cause.

Not all of the Mexicans are illegal immigrants. It's MOST of them. Not ALL. See the difference? Don't worry, I'm Mexican too and lived my life here :)

It's ok if you "waste 5 points", I'm going to waste my time (as well as many others) repeating to you what's been stated on this site "a thousand times" on here already.

Illegal aliens from 188 countries were deported last year from the U.S. . I don't think there are too many people that honestly believes that that "all illegals are Mexican", or that "all Latinos in the U.S. are illegal"?

I know many people try their darndest to make it a "racial" issue, but the truth is that an "illegal alien" is not a race or ethnicity or any other definable group.

All countries have immigration laws.
All countries enforce them.
All countries have the right to enforce them.
Period.

I agree. You would think people in 2007 would have shed stereotyping and moved into a more civilized state, but obviously some remain in the realm of such barbarisms. Illegals come in every shape and color. Many of them speak English fluently and are relatively well educated.
