Yes she is covered, but if she has just recently obtained her drivers license and has not been on your insurance policy as a household driver,I would contact your insurance agent and give him her drivers license information.

California law basically goes like this. Insurance companies write a policy stating the names of the covered drivers for the car. There is also a guest policy that covers guest drivers. However, there are usually two restrictions on guests: they must be adults, and they cannot live at the same address. So, for most CA insurance companies, your daughter would not be covered.

There is a reason why new drivers are charged higher insurance rates. If it were that easy to get around the higher rates by not adding them to the policy, everyone would do it.

Could depend on your insurance company. I have State Farm and anyone over 25 can drive my vehicles and be covered. Under 25, they must live with me and be on the policy as a driver. No exceptions. I have never heard of what others are talking about as far as the insurance going with the vehicle. The insurance companies would go broke. No one would pay extra for their under 25 drivers.

I think it matters on the coverage you have many insurance companies only cover the owner if an accident happens and others cover any one with a valid driver license. Check with your insurance company before you let your teenager drive.

unless is full coverage
but, if that ever happens your insurance will go up

another thing, that a lot of people does not know, is if u get into an accident while changing the stations on the radio or while on the phone, most insurances would not cover the accident.

You need to read the fine print to be sure about it

if you have the type of coverage..she should be covered...allowing household members to drive without reporting their "frequent" use of the car...can be fraudulous also....if you don't have the "extended coverage" she may not...be covered even though a juvenile....state laws might come into effect here...a little research amay uncover them....other types of insurance may cover her injuries hospitalization because she's a minor...BTW is LA Los Angeles or Louisiana?

Call your agent. Some states require that you have her listed as a driver, some just insure anyone who is driving.

For your daughter to be covered, she would need to be listed as a part time driver on the policy.

I'm pretty sure if you have insurance on the car and she is dependent on you she is covered. The age shouldn't matter if she is still dependent on you.
