I'll never forget those breaded and fried mystery meat patties served with cold instant mashed potatoes and a wilted lettuce "salad". The most DISGUSTING SH!T ON EARTH!!!!! We soon learned to skip off campus at lunch time and go to McDonalds for lunch, not great but it sure beat that crap at school. Later in High School we would all pile in a car and go to a place called Lums where they had these really great hot dogs cooked in beer, great onion rings and fried clams to die for! Ahhh good old school days.

When I was in school, they made something that was macaroni and cheese with big chunks of diced ham in it with huge thick-skinned peas. The addition of the peas was disgusting, plus there always seemed to be something wrong with that ham. Maybe it wasn't really ham. Maybe it was Spam or some other fake meat product.

All of it...Cafeteria...no...I could never eat that food....stopped taking lunch from home when I was about 7-8...used to just throw them out...There was a deli next to my grammar school...this was in the early 70's..used to steal money from my mom's purse...so I could sneak out..through the playground...during recess...go to the deli and purchase a fresh and real sandwich...It was the only way I would eat...guess that's why I became a foodie...I need food to taste right...fresh...by the way...White bread...especially wonder...disgusting..never eat it...the only way I eat white bread of any type is toasted...pretty dark...the texture of raw white bread is gross..gushy!

Oh god, I could make a book out of this.
Mystery meat. It was grey, slimey, smelly, and often served with a side of grease sprinkled with fries.
Every day after mowing, we had 'greens'...I'm sure it was just coincidence...
Chicken fingers...I think they were rubber chicken fingers..usually served with grainy cold nasty mashed potatos
This yucky tuna...stuff. It was a big scary lump, I think it may have been alive...

Chicken fried steak, meatloaf...we always had to "buy" so on those days I lived on the roll and white milk.
But I must say that the fried chicken, mac and cheese, and pizza were out of this world. And peanut butter balls...YUM! My high school made the best french fries EVER.

Just the coleslaw they put in with everything from the ones bought at school, the smell always ruined the other food and especailly the brownie, that would just suck it up.
