I am a hopless romantic. I have never had a boyfriend and desperatly would like one. I am a self-consious kind of person. I want to have the feeling that some guy cares for me. Is that to much to ask in someone?

In your case, it seems to be way too much to ask in someone. So behave as if you're to be alone forever and enlighten yourself. You might be surprised.

No it isn't too much to ask but just don't go around desperately looking for a guy friend. Enjoy your singleness. Some people (particularly girls) wished the have just stayed single at some time or another because some silly guy took their heart and broke it. Guys are nothing to want too much. I'm a guy, I should know (well I'm a real good guy) but like I said enjoy your singleness, because it really can be worst. eg. you may meet a guy and he ends up takiing your virginity and he treats you like dirt and you cant leave because you're emotionally attatched, then the only way you see yourself out is to be suicidle. You don't have to be a victim to that just enjoy your singleness and patiently wait for your soulmate. Good luck!!

no it's not too much to ask.
but the word "desperately" in your post is a red flag.
Some guys are respectful enough to back off from a situation where a woman wants to have that feeling that some guy cares for her.
Others are just predators and try to get all they can from you: sex, money, jewelry, cars, more sex. And they will not respect you. And you will end up feeling pretty bad. Serioulsy, and in therapy (which is expensive enough).
Hang in there. You might meet someone great. But try to redirect all that love you've got straight back at yourself and take your time.

doesnt sound like it. It depends on how old you are. If your young dont expect anything to really happen until early to mid 20's.
