They say that I have won a large sum of money. How can I verify anything when I live a quarter of a world from there? Are they allowed to request money in order to get answers? Why do have to pay something before you get any creditable info?

I sell the UK National Lottery Tickets and the only way you can win is to have a ticket (if you take part you will know what I mean) Either by the old traditional pink ticket, the new white supermarket receipt ticket, or online.

Also only UK Residents can only take part in this lottery, any overseas people can not claim the money if they win.

So I am sorry to say it must be a scam, if you received it through an email, and there were no ticket bought, and no numbers etc.
I will not simply respond

Try what it is, is a real scam. I've won the UK national lottery so many times that I should be able to buy the UK by now. Just forward them to the abuse dept of where it is coming from. Example if the e-mail comes from Imascam@yahoo.co.uk, just forward it to abuse@yahoo.co.uk

And then delete the e-mail.

The UK National Lottery is a real thing, yes - but if you have not heard of it then you didn't buy a ticket and you didn't win!

It's a scam.

It's just a scam, you didn't win anything. They're trying to get money from you - you already know that. Don't send them anything.

The way to check is "have you bought a ticket"
like they say "if you haven't bought a ticket you don't
win the lottery"

Yeah, it's a scam. They will eventually ask for your account numbers and then they will steal from that account.

SCAM!
