Many times he showed the Pharisees would not have a resurrection. They had committed the unforgiveable sin.
Why? Because they saw the works of the son of man. They saw him resurrect the dead and tried to go kill the man to cover up the fact. They knew he cured the sick and all the other miracles and they covered it up.
They were the people the others looked up to for spiritual enlightment. It says that preachers will have a heavier judgement. Why? because they are supose to be shepards and lead the people to Christ. Examples it says to the flock.
So when they sin it is worst than when just anyone sins.
so when evangelic preachers on TV sin? They have no forgiveness. Just like the Pharisees. That is sinning against the holy spirit. Matthew 12:22-32
First he was expelling the demons and the pharisees said it was by means of the devil that he expells the demons.
Then he explains a house divided against its self cannot stand. verse 30 he that is not on my side is against me.
Verse 31 is where he tells the pharisees they have committed the unforgiveable sin. He knew their heart condition. Peter was forgiven but he didn't do it maliciously.
Their motive was a bad one and it stemed from a corrupt heart.
But it does show the pressure put upon preachers to do the right thing. Because they receive a heavier judgement.
can they be forgiven? Not for a deliberate sin.

It is not about "swearing at" the Holy Spirit, but denying His call and rejecting the salvation and Lordship of Jesus. This is unforgivable, as one dies in this sin. Basically, if you don't want Him, you will get what you want.

That's not what it meant. Jesus was warning them of their rejection of Him as Savior. You can't be forgiven anything without believing in Jesus, that He is God, and that He died for our sins and rose again (in their case, was about to).

The Holy Spirit's message, according to John 14-16, is Jesus is the way of salvation. If you reject this message, you go to hell eternally, no forgiveness possible. That's what the "blasphemy of the Holy Spirit" is.

As a Christian, i've got regularly had the comparable question. and that i will't assure that this answer is right, yet that's an evidence I have been given from a guy in my church that i in my view understand, who analyze the Bible plenty, and whose opinion I have confidence while it comprises non secular concerns. He says that blaspheming the spirit is to persistently positioned off the Holy Spirit while it talks to you. So while the Holy Spirit is asking you to repent and supply your existence to God and additionally you persistently refuse, your coronary heart can grow to be so tricky in direction of the Spirit, that in truth the Spirit quits attempting to communicate to you, and leaves you. So then you certainly won't be able to grow to be saved because of the fact the Spirit quits calling you, and the Spirit has to call you first because of the fact we are sinners and can't decide on God on our own because of the fact of our sin nature. So all of us annoying approximately offending the Spirit remains below the conviction of the Holy Spirit and as a result can't be blaspheming the Spirit, because of the fact they're listening to what the Spirit says approximately ultimate and incorrect. relatively, once you're in touch approximately no remember in case you have ever carried out it and can nonetheless be saved, then you certainly have not carried out it. all of us who has carried out it heavily isn't waiting to sense convicted approximately it because of the fact the Spirit isn't any longer working withing them to furnish them thoughts of conviction. there is no sin that God won't forgive if we are repentant. The sin of blaspheming the Spirit is "unforgivable" because of the fact this is the sin of persistently refusing to repent while the Holy Spirit activates us to.

Since it is the Holy Spirit that convicts us of our sins, and since we can't repent without that conviction of sin, then when we push the Holy Spirit completely out of our lives, by whatever means, it is no longer possible to repent and be saved, thus it is totally unforgiveable, since to be forgiven involves conviction of sin and subsequent repentance.

NOW it is time to put away foolish things and be a man... Fairy-tales are just that, fairy tales, Satan is no more real than the Easter bunny, or Santa clause...
