In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.

The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.

Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.

Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.

Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

YEA..., Obey God and you won't ever have to deal with that fallen angel and his lies and deceit and temptations.
WE, mankind, were given ALL dominion and authority and power over this planet; Adam and Eve being first, and IF they hadn't DISOBEYED and subjugated themselves under the suggestions/lies/temptations of satan we would all be living in an extended Garden of Paradise on Earth. Adam committed treason when he listened to this snake devil rather than listening to God FIRST AND ONLY.
Then Jesus Christ, the Last Adam, totally defeated satan ON OUR BEHALF, and gave us back, individually IN CHRIST, that power, dominion and authority..., over death, hell and the grave.., so USE IT and be obedient to the written Word of God.
I have a real problem with people who suggest that satan is doing the will of God and wasn't REALLY banished from heaven!! Like he and Jesus are the "bad cop/good cop" team to do God's bidding.
Rediculous!! Let's at least get the "good guys and bad guys" straight. God is good and the devil tempts the children of this world in rebellion to God and his eternity is H~E~L~L, NOT being rewarded for doing WHAT JOB???
Let us not forget why our Lord Jesus put down all His glory and riches of heaven to come to earth and live a man without sin against all temptation..., and he was tempted in all points like we are.., yet WITHOUT SIN, and then was brutally punished for false accusations and nailed to a cross because HE WILLINGLY CHOSE TO BE FATHER GOD'S SACRIFICE for YOU and ME. He was NOT murdered, but laid down His precious and sinless life and being sinless, death couldn't HOLD Him, and He arose from the dead after going into HELL for you and took the keys away from satan of death, hell and the grave and set the captives (those who died and were being held & waiting for Him, the Savior of the world) FREE.
Don't dare discount the suffering our Savior Jesus did on our behalf! the devil is a LIAR and THIEF and CRUEL TORMENTOR..., NOT the servant of our loving God Jehovah!

No, this scripture is letting us understand that the Heavens are sparkling of all evil spirits while Jesus became king. earlier than this time, devil and the fallen angels have been waiting to return right down to earth and circulate decrease back to heaven, whether, as quickly as Jesus became king, he did no longer enable this and that they have been all Revelation 12:9 mentions "So down the great dragon replaced into hurled, the unique serpent, the only referred to as devil and devil, who's deceptive the great inhabited earth; he replaced into hurled right down to the earth, and his angels have been hurled down with him." and then keeps on Revelations 12:12, " in this account be happy, YOU heavens and you who stay in them! Woe for the earth and for the sea, via fact the devil has come right down to YOU, having great anger, understanding he has a quick volume of time." basically the devil and the fallen angels understand that they have a sh oft volume of time left and that they're going to disappear from earth perpetually!!!!! i won't have the capacity to attend!

...Woe to the earth and the sea,
because the devil has gone down to you!
He is filled with fury,
because he knows that his time is short.

yeah i heard that satan is actual god advocate doing the dirty job ... think of grim reaper , here to take soul of the dead , but people would immediately think he's the bad guy and thus wear all charm that they think can repel him and after several generation , it would becomes that the grim reaper is god's enemy and well you can guess the rest.

..that satan is living with us and it's up to us to refuse his invitations. my teacher told me before on my religion class that satan takes any form just to mingle with us. We don't know that he could be one of our friends.

Why was he banished to earth? Did god want us to suffer? Why not ban him to hell?
