Honestly, its debatable. For instance, if you walk for an hour you don't have to breka a sweat. However, if you jog 5 times a week for 30 mins you can break a sweat and burn more calories/increase your metabolism. You should take a pedometor with you and calculate how far you get walking and calculate the time and how much calories you burned and compare that to the jogging and see whether it is equal or not. I personally believe you should stick to the jogging 5 times a week and just walking on the weekends. Up to you tho, hope i helped.

Not necessarily. If you are speed walking for a hour with weights then you will actually be burning more calories and toning more muscles than jogging for 30. What about doing the speed walking with weights 5 to 6 days a week, and doing a bit of weight training 3 days a week. You will have better results.

nope...running is more beneficial as it is high intensity while walking is low intensity. low intensity exercise does not cause an increase in the resting metabolic rate after exercise or does it have as much of a positive effect on the endocrine system.

the higher the intensity of exercise the greater the increase in the resting metabolic rate (RMR) there will be. increasing the RMR is the key to fat loss. too many people focus on targeting fat loss "during" exercise which is basically a waste of time and far from optimum for health or fat loss
