Hypothetically, if Satan were to appear and take control of the world, and you could tell it was him because he had an irrational hatred of Christians and did not want to let any of them live unless they recanted, regardless of whether or not they obey Christ much, and was performing astounding mental feats and made a living image of himself from what appeared to be dirt, would you:
1. Voluntarily worship him if he asked?
2. Worship him if threatened you with torture, inculding starvation, imprisonment or a horrible death?
3. If he demanded that you report the whereabouts of any Christians who were not in a prison city or camp like they were required to be, or who did not have a certain mark on them indicating that they were Christians, would you comply in the face severe punishment or say nothing as long as your neighbors didn't care and the police hardly ever came around?
4. Would you aid any Christians in any way in such a situation as long as it didn't endanger you?

I don't believe he exists sorry.
Hypothetically though I'd do none of the above.I'd attack him-yes if it really was Satan I'd lose but better to die in battle than to live as a slave to the Abrahamic religion's bogeyman.

How about:
5. Aid Christians in a way that would endanger myself to preserve freedom as a whole, despite the fact that I have different beliefs than them.
Also, if I "knew" that he was really Satan I wouldn't be atheist anymore, because Satan can only exist if God created him.
Putting that aside, if somebody were persecuting Christians in such a way and demanded that everybody worship him, I would actively work against that person.

1. No
2. No
3. No.
4. I would help anyone that needed help whether it endangered myself or not. Of course I would do my best to stay out of danger, but if it could not be helped, well then it just couldn't be helped.
I would expect any Christian to do the same for me. That is after all a "Christian" thing to do. Of course atheist and agnostics may not believe there were a Satan, because they do not believe in any existence of a god, or goddess. No darkness without light. Right?

Here's my hypothetically answers to your hypothetical questions:
1. I will ask Satan why does he still need my voluntary worship, he already taken control over the world (according to your question). Now what will my unfettered devotion contribute with his hostile take over? Will it increase his economic or military powers?
2. Now why will he be that desperate? Is my unfettered devotion a key to his powers? Hmmmm? Now for that ...as a rational human being I may already think that worship is very vital to the existence of this being. Without veneration, this being will be as useless as his arch-enemy...God. So how can a creature who is too dependent on devotions be a threat to me? All I have to do is not to believe on his existence and he will immediately vanish in a puff of logic.
3. Why will I report to him, he's not my boss. In the contrary Satan is the one who must report to me,. because without my unfettered devotion he's existence on Earth is in trouble (Remember, he's the one pleading for my worship. I don't have any needs for him.)
4. I will only ask the Christian to forget about the mythology. He created this Satan character, so by dumping this character out of his system and accepting the fact that evil doesn't need any personification, he already saved himself all the trouble.

"If Satan were to appear and take control of most the world...?," I would immediately seek a psychiatric professional and most likely voluntarily commit myself as such a delusion would be a sure sign of mental imbalance. Only crazy people believe such nonsense.

the advesary really doesn't have that kind of power. In the book of Job, the advesary has to ask permission from FIRST before he can mess with Job.
In the OT scriptures, god is ONE, both good and evil.
Deut 32:39 "See now that I myself am He! There is no god besides me. I put to death and I bring to life, I have wounded and I will heal, and no one can deliver out of my hand.
EXO 4:11 The LORD said to him, "Who gave man his mouth? Who makes him deaf or mute? Who gives him sight or makes him blind? Is it not I, the LORD ?
Isa 45:7 I form Light and create darkness, I make weal(well-being) and create woe(misery/sin), I am the Lord, who do all these things.
Its not until the NT, that christian adopt the canaanite mythos in separating god. The canaanites had their Mot, the god of darkness who was in constant war with their BAAL, the 'resurrected' son god of LIFE/Fertility.
In the OT scripture of Jeremiah, its written that those preaching about a god of Love are false prophets Jer 23:9-40

This questioner is lost in the Sea of Mythology. I would recommend some therapy to try and drill down to a more workable reality.

I am not going to waste time wondering if a being I don't believe in is going to take over the world and force me to worship it.
