I live in South Carolina. Most people get their permit at age 15 and start driving on their own at 15 1/2 (have to wait 6 months)with a restricted.... i never got my permit until a month before my 16 th birthday... Does anyone know if i have to actually wait 6 months even after i turned 16 to even get my restricted/licence?

I'm not sure about South Carolina, but in most states I believe the restriction that you have to wait 6 months applies to anyone under 18. You can check the DMV site for the exact procedure.
