I seriously doubt that this hypothermia blanket or cooling equipment is available to the general public. The use of this is only done in an institutional setting such as a hospital. The patient undergoing this therapy whether it's for cooling down for a high temperature or fever.; or warming up for a hypothermic patient. have to be monitored closely.


The cooling blanket is widely used for brain injury pts to slow the metabolic needs of the body and to avoid further brain damage. In other words, we put them therapeutically in a comatose state. The rationale for this is: Fevers and seizures or the mere act of shivering would raise the core temperature and further exacerbate the problem.
