I want to know what others think. Can evolution and the Bible exist hand in hand? Does anyone think they fit together? Not the creation theory, but not taking the beginning of the Bible literal. Does anyone think it can work? What if we're both right? Why should we have to fight over it all the time?

We can't compromise fact with fiction.

If you believe in God, then you believe that He .created EVERYTHING, right? Like, the laws of the universe and science, and EVERYTHING, not just religious laws... some people are probably going to get offended by this, and I'm sorry, just take it at face value...

If you believe the Bible to be the word of God, even accepting the fact that it's been translated over and over again by different people for different reasons, God says that His house is a house of order, so why would He, stating that, have created a universe without scientific backing? He created the laws of the universe, He wouldn't break those to make it.

The beginning of the bible isn't a cook book, it's not step by step directions on how to make a world and people, it's more like a log, more like statements... "God created the Heavens and the Earth" so taking the bible literally shouldn't have anything to do with your question.

Fighting is over rated, people need to accept the fact that no everyone agrees, and that their not going to change their mind just because someone else thinks differently.

I think they do coincide, and if you truly believe in the bible, you should believe in evelution... first, God created man after the animals, and second, God created man from dirt... do you know how many animals live in dirt? symbolically, it fits, literally it fits, logically it fits. But that's just what I think

b/c both claim to be absolute truth without admiting the other. When to theories co-exist only one can be absolute truth. No where in the bible does it suggest evolution (unless you count God's booming voice that created a bang across the universe) and biblical claims are unscientifical which put them out of step with evolution. They cannot both be true...one day we will prove one or the other (most likely evolution b/c it's based on science, not magic) but they will never co-exist as both viable theories.
