The Bible isnt "original",like the Quran?

Question

The bible has newer versions of it,how could you believe in something that people changed? For example the Quran doesn't have "newer Versions" or it,meaning its the same from when it was 1st discovered by Muhammad(PBUH).The Bible "used" to say "no eating of the swine(pork).......well now people have taken that out of the bible?..........explain that huh..? Oh i almost forgot im muslim.

The perfect example of Christianity never commanded His followers to wage war against unbelievers.

The perfect example of Islam commanded his followers to wage war against Jews, Christians, and pagans. He even went on to say that these others should be attacked and killed.

Jesus never killed anyone. Muhammed killed many.

If God kept His promise, then what we need to do is simple. Have archaeologists find all the copies and pieces of copies they can find that have survived from ancient times. If God kept his promise, copying errors will not have polluted the text. Instead, when we compare the copies from churches all over the ancient world, we will find that they agree, that they all had basically the same text. If we occasionally find a copy that does not match the others, we will throw it out, knowing that it was made by a sloppy copyist.

This has, in fact been done. The Old Testament Hebrew text was preserved by the Levites. The apostles quoted it, and we can trust it. For the New Testament, of all the copies in existence today, 95% agree in an incredible way. God did keep His promise! Only 5%, a tiny minority, are "messed up." All we have to do is put together a Hebrew and Greek text made up from our overwhelming majority of ancient texts, and we will have a text that we can be confident is exactly the same as the one held by the early church. Today, this text is called by several names, the most common being the "Received Text" or "Textus Receptus."

This was the text used by devout translators like William Tyndale, Martin Luther, John Calvin and others, some of whom died to preserve the Scriptures. If they were going to have to die for it, they were determined to die for the right text! This is also the text used to make the most famous and durable of all English Bibles, the King James Bible.

No modern English Bible translation uses this text! But that's another story.

True, there are many different versions of the Bible. There are versions in Chinese for the Chinese. There are versions in Russian for the Russian people. There are actually thousands of versions of the Bible—some in foreign languages, and some are in old English. Few, in the printing age, can claim that they don’t have access to the Scriptures in their own language. However, each translation is based on the original biblical texts. See Psalm 119:105.

...and where exactly did Muhammad "discover" the Quran? He didn't "discover" it, he wrote it. You say the Bible has changed. Wrong! It has been revised, not to reflect changes, but to update the language so as to allow better understanding. Not unlike when the Quran has been written in other languages. You say that the Bible "used to say" no eating of swine "pork. Whoever told you that was making stuff up. Look at Lev. 11:7-8. It still says it. You would do well to concentrate on your Prophet Jesus, but like the Jews, you too dismiss Him.

In the Old testament of the Bible, eating pork is not allowed, but in the New testament after Jesus Christ, it is okay to eat. The bible has not changed it has only been translated from one language to another, and rememeber the bible was here long before the "Quran". You see there is a little problem. I don't read Hebrew and Greek, so I can't very well read the original text of the Bible because I can't read those languages. However, our pastors do study Greek and Hebrew and can read the original texts. Those texts do exist. Instead I read a translation in English. If you can read the original text of the Quran, more power to you. Have fun with that. If you think that makes a difference. OK, go with it. However, I think you're just making a mountain out of a mole hill.

By the way, do think you're earning some kind of points with this line of reasoning?

First these newer versions you talk about are not new words just an update on the language. As language progress words fall out of use and repalced by others therefore the need to update. Secondly the not even eting of pork is in there. Yet in the testement written after messiah came these were done away with by God for the inclusion of Gentiles and better higiene and cooking came along. by the way i'm Christian.

I believe the pork bit is still there, although I can't see where the Quran has any advantage over the Bible. Maybe they took out one of the references to pork; I'm not sure about that.

the Bible has not changed...and it is still wrong to eat pork...there are so many atheists and money making food corporations that ignore the word of God and the common sense of it...pig is unclean and do not eat it..... and the grocery stores are full of that garbage.....

the new testament did not change the dietary laws.....read your Bible a little closer....the clean and unclean was in reference to the Jews/ clean and the Gentiles / unclean and both being allowed access to the word of God...
