Hello yelodaise:
If you are in the Cub Scouts in the USA, the religous medal for your son is called "Loving Servant."
You can get a workbook from your Council office, or try:

The religious emblems program is a voluntary exploration of the boy's faith. The programs are written by committees of the specific faith, and awarded by the religous body, not the BSA. It is encouraged, but not required by BSA to earn advancement. The program *may* entail a spiritual growth plan and study with an adviser.
For additional information on other faiths, please visit http://www.scouting.org/awards/religious/awards/index.html

The first thing a cub scout must earn is his Tender Foot.
Then he should progress to be a boy scout and earn his 2nd Class, and then 1st Class.
After that, well, his King Scout badge, perhaps - with the coveted Wood Badge alongside.
The scouting body has no religious badge, mind you.

I have been researching this for my son as well. I have found a link here: http://usscouts.org/advance/cubscout/religious.asp
for Religious Emblems for Cub Scouts.
You will see your church link below the first four paragraphs.
I hope this helps.
God Bless.

The Cub Scout Handbook should tell whan he needs to do in it for each badge.
This should help - it's the leader's handbook, but it still works - http://www.geocities.com/~pack215/home.html

Call your local BSA office and ask to talk to the merit badge coordinator. I teach Anglican and Catholic studies for the same badges...but I know each denomination is different.

Are you sure he really wants it and it's not something that you really want for him?
