I went to Jamaica a few months ago and made friends w/a really nice resort worker. We've been talking on the phone ever since. $850 later, I flew out to see him. He's poor, but he treated me like a queen. Cooked, ran shower water and cartered me all around town. We ended up spending a night at a local hotel. That was my first time being with him in a more public environment, and I do believe that he is not the one for me. Sometimes his behavior is a bit young (he's 5 years younger than I), common and embarrassing. He's somewhat needy & I don't want him to do anything drastic to himself if I end things. Plus I've already loaned him money because he called to tell me he had no food to eat. I have no problem helping out on that level, but the fantasy of it all is gone. We are two different classes, and I am not sure he can move in my crowd or that I want to be in his. So after 2 months of love talk, how do I tell him its over, or should I make an effort?

Don't be afraid to let him know you think it is best to end the relationship, you wish him the best and thanks for a great time. Don't wait until you have found yourself giving more money away. If you need an excuse, you don't live in Jamaica right? Say you have met someone else in your town and leave it at that.

OK, the "loan" is lost money. You have realized that he is not the one for you. For that, I congratulate you. My guess is that the $850 in phone calls was because you paid for all of them: either you made the calls or you accepted the collect calls (SOMETHING JUST WENT WRONG WITH MY COMPUTER _ I AM NOT SHOUTING)> IF HE CALLS< DO NOT ACCEPT> DO NOT MAKE ANY CALLS TO HIM> JUST LET IT DIE>

To be honest, he probably is sitting a lot prettier than what you think or have been shown.

I think he's a user and is using other women just to gain.

Lose him--change your e-mail address--tell him it just won't work. In this situation, I would say just blow him off in the nicest way possible.
