None of my friends like my new boyfriend, they all tell me that hes going to screw me over and that hes not worth my time but so far he hasn't given me a reason to think that. I think I should be the one deciding who i go out with not them....

What you do is your business; if you want to see him, then go for it. If your friends know things about him that you don't. then they are probably right; but that does not mean that they have the right to try to control who you date.

Sometimes your friends have an objective viewpoint. If they all agree that your new boyfriend is a bum, you might want to listen. A number of years back, a friend announced his engagement to a young lady who, while pretty, had a very damaging personality. Unfortunately, he only saw the beauty. Anyway, we sent him a condolence card. He thought it was funny; we meant it seriously. His girlfriend was livid. The marriage lasted about 18 months until he finally accepted that a good personality was far more important than looks.
