The brakes on a 1999 Nissan Maxima make a dull noise after the brake pedal is released. The noise doesn't happen all the time. Any ideas?

Try this but be careful disconnect the power brake booster vacuum hose and plug it this will make your brakes manual and hard to depress. Just see if the dull noise stops. Unplug the hose to the intake manifold replace the spring clip right where it was and hook the vacuum hose back to the booster unit. Sometimes the brake light switch makes sounds as the brake is released. Feel free to e-mail me and describe where you hear this sound? inside outside and how many miles does the Maxima have on it?
