We don't hate Mexicans. We hate the 10 million or so Mexicans who are here illegally. Since there are so many illegal immigrants in this country, many of us sometimes assume that any Mexican we see is here illegally. We like the Mexicans who initially came here legally because we know they have been screened and will contribute to our society without becoming a burden to the taxpayers.

We hate your corrupt Mexican government and those elitist Mexicans who instead of using the vast resources and capital of Mexico to help the poor better themselves, encourage the poor to trespass into the U.S. This partially forced emigration is due to deep rooted prejudice against dark-skinned, uneducated, impoverished people with a different accent than the elite.

It turns out that due to globalization, there are many citizens who are now willing to do the work of the undocumented in many cases for the same pay. This may not have been true five years ago. So we hate illegal immigrants for taking our jobs away from us. Let us get our own food from the fields and prepare it. We have enough of an unskilled unemployed/underemployed citizen underclass. Just tell us where the jobs are and take us there. For the more difficult jobs, perhaps job sharing would be advisable.

We also hate businesses who know full well which of their employees are here legally versus the ones with fake ids. We aren't real thrilled either with La Raza and the Catholic church who help these illegals find work. Why not give citizens the same networks?

I kinda liked 'Day Without a Mexican' though it would have been more propperly titled 'day isolated from the rest of the world.' In the flick, not only did Mexicans magically disapear from CA, but CA was magically walled off from the rest of the earth. Were it not for the second conciet, of course, said Mexicans would have been rapidly replaced - unskilled labor is a fungible commodity. The movie might have made a better point with the many not-so-unskilled jobs and contributions made by those of Mexican descent. But, it was still a cool illustration of how jacked-in we are to the global economy.

In any case, it's not my intention, nor that of most who are opposed to illegal immigration to 'hate on' mexicans, nor any other specific nationality. It's just an unhappy coincidence that Mexico delivers such a disproportionate share of illegals to America.

First off I don't hate Mexicans, and people don't hate immigrants, they hate the method of illegal immigration. Picture this instead of having to work for lower wages, out in the fields, restaurants and being taken for granted. Owning your own business, being an office worker, paying your children's way for college and living the American Dream. There is the stereotype that people have had forced down there throats for so long by the media.

the movie "a day without mexicans" is just that --- a movie. do not confuse a movie with real life.

in case you were unaware of the fact, mexicans do other jobs besides baby sitting, cooking and picking vegetables.

furthermore, if the illegal mexicans want to trot on home to mexico and, according to you, leave the Americans high and dry, feel free to go!!! those jobs were getting done long before you got here and there will not be a problem after you go.

in conclusion, you have the audacity to ask for a thank you? how dare you!!! you get paid for the work that you do!!! why on earth should we thank you like you are doing us some kind of a favor!!!

go home and stop your complaining!!!! we are sick of it!!!

You have a problem babe! First, you dont habla too well. That is a huge problem with me. Why in the world do I have to press 1 for English? It's my frickin' country! My government refuses to protect me from you. My tax dollars are better used guarding our borders than propping you Illegals up with medical / foodstamps /WIC and all the other freebies the liberals can toss your way. Problem # dos...stop rioting in MY country for YOUR rights! YOU HAVE NO RIGHTS HERE!!!!
Don't wave your tri-colored flag with a yard buzzard on it . NOT HERE AMIGO !! The Star Spangled Banner is our National Anthem. We didn't let the Germans, French, Ruskies, Cubans, Italians, Greeks, Turks or any other nationality sing it......what makes you think we want to hear it in your language? Huh? The VERY least you could do is learn our lingo and try to be part of us. But Noooooo.....you are special and need for us to be like you. Well... not me.If you are here illegally ...... GET OUT NOW!!! I hope this causes some people sleepless nights. I won't apologize ..... just leave and take everyone with you. Dont come back...ever!

First of all, we survived without you making our food and cutting our grass for nearly our entire history. If every illegal was deported, as they should be according to our laws, someone else would do the work. Probably teenagers or legal immigrants. Whatever they don't do a robot could do. We don't hate you, we hate people that break the law, including immigration and drug laws, and your country just happens to be the worst offenders. If you want my opinion, I think you should stay in Mexico, and try to make your country better, instead of running away, and leaving it a corrupted mess. Take all that hard work and apply it to the country you love a better place to live.

First of all, work on your grammar, it's really bad. I am from the United States and my girlfriend is from Mexico City and we get along perfect. I like the Mexican culture and people very much. It's not that people do not appreciate the hard work Mexican's do, it's just that the large amount of illegal immigrants are giving the rest of the Mexican/Latino population a bad name.

I don't hate Mexicans or any people for that matter. What gets me upset is illegal immigration but I'm very pro-legal immigration because that's what created the USA. I love legal immigrants but don't like illegal immigrants. If you've noticed, I have never linked illegal immigration with Mexicans because I think that's stereotyping and I don't believe in being judgemental. I don't like to spread hatred on anybody or make trouble. Hatred is a bad thing. Thanks and have a good day!

Why are you generalizing? Not everyone hates Mexicans. A lot of people have some animosity for what the President is trying to do with the illegal immigration. There has been a lot of publicity on this subject and I think people are just tired of hearing it. I am a white woman who was raised in Texas and grew up around a large population of Hispanics, I don't hate them, in fact I married one whom I love more than life itself. Please don't say that we all hate, we don't. I would just like to see more control on illegal immigration because it does financially affect us all.

I'll just say thank you for the two points and be polite about that.

As far as Mexicans go, most people are mad at the Federal Government for doing nothing to secure our borders...most people I know really dislike the illegal immigrants, whether they're from Mexico or China...and most people have no problem with legal immigrants. The fact that most illegals are mexicans is what causes the animosity you feel.

BTW, you want a thankyou for doing something you're getting paid to do and something that people presumably crossed the border illegally to do? If you don't like it, go back and build up Mexico...throw out your corrupt government and try to be good neighbors for a change.
