My daughter is 21/2 and I'm ready to train her but I don't know how to begin. I know she's ready because she always hides when she goes and tells me to changer her diaper all the time. I also have a newborn so it's kind of hard to do it but I really want her out of diapers already. How do I begin?

I just potty trained my son and daughter. I like an approach where I don't have to pressure or push my child. What worked for my kids was The Potty Stool http://www.thepottystool.com I started by just setting it at the toilet. My kids immediately climbed up on the stool and discovered that they could safely and securely use the toilet. This got them very interested in using the toilet and they were potty trained very quickly. My kids like to use what they know mommy and daddy use.

I like that I don't have to double the steps of potty training by training them first in a potty and then training them to stop using a potty. And not dumping and cleaning a potty each time is great. The best thing is that kids use it for years. I hope this helps you

buy a cool potty chair for her. put it together and let her just sit on it in the living room(with her pants ON)--this will help her realized potty chairs are a good thing. then when/if you notice her hiding go to her quickly---but DON'T make a big deal, as this will scare her---and place her on her potty. if she goes make a HUGE deal about it!! Also, I had a small dish with a lid in the bathroom with M&M's(it can be whatever is your daughter's fav) and when my kids went, they got their reward..
best of luck. but if she's ready, it will be easy for you both!!
also, you can try buying her some pretty panies(even let her pick them out) and let her wear them over her diaper, maybe will encourage her more. also, now this is my opinion, I think pull ups don't help. if you want, just let her wear the thick training pants, b/c she will FEEL that she's wet and won't like it. faster training this way!!

start by introducing the potty to her. if you dont already have one go buy it together and make sure you remind her its her special potty. you can try to sit her on it but when its new she will probably be more interested in playing with it. just make sure its where she always has access to it. (we cant put ours in the bathroom because he loves to make a big mess with shampoo, hair grease etc.) when she wakes up in the morning sit her on the potty and about every hour just to let her know thats where she has to go. my son will not be 2 until next month but he already uses the potty to go pee and doo doo. he still wears diapers because he not quite potty trained but hes almost there!!! it also helped a lot that we bought the potty about 6 months ago so hes pretty used to it by now but i heard that girls are easier than boys. btw if those are your kids in the picture they are adorable!! good luck

take her and sit her on the potty go to the store first and buy a dozen or so pairs of big girl undies let her pick and pullups. no more diapers
save the pull ups for nap bedtime and when you will be out for a length of time but take her potty while out too

ok once shes in panties take her potty once an hour every hour all day every day. she will have accidents dont scold her, have her help change her self and take her soiled panties and pants to the washing machine

then go to the potty and explain to her that this is where you go

this works once we did this my son was trained in a week

buy a chair and give her a few days to explore the chair but make sure its not used like as a toy after that put her on the potty chair about 15 to 20 min after she eats and drinks my daughter is the same age and we started about 2 weeks ago.

Once your newborn settled down or sleeping, bring pooty often to your daughter.
After her feed, make sure you ask her frequently if she needs the potty.
