Well, he doesn't have a great track record.
He promised to come back in his disciples' lifetimes.
He claimed to be coming very soon, and despite rationalizations such as, "well, God's 'very soon' is my '2015 years,'" the early Church believed it meant in THEIR lifetimes.
The Jehovah's Witnesses have made an art out of explaining false predictions.
Many believed 'very soon' meant 2000 AD, not realizing that Jesus was in fact born several years before year 0 due to a clerical error.
The last few decades have seen an intense surge of apocalyptic or 'end-times' literature - each prediction has been proven wrong.
The Mayans (or was it the Aztecs?), who have been shown to be incredibly precise regarding astronomical predictions, abruptly ended their calendar at the year 2012 AD, February 22, I believe.
All but the last have been disproven. Here's MY prediction: by the time 2012 has been proven wrong, there will be another predicted date for those seeking the end of the world.

Jesus said in Matthew 24 or 25, that when we see what we are seeing now. It is just the Beginning of Sorrows.
There is supposed to be a Worldwide earthquake. Isaiah 24, 5th Seal in Revelation. Then a period of Great Tribulation. As humans fight over bare essentials like water and food.
And there are otherworldly lifeforms. Some of which do not have our best interests at heart. They will try and create as much chaos and destruction as possible, to make it worse.
Then Christ will come and gather up all those who stayed faithful, and didn't give up, and give in to hate and violence. And God will send a Great Spiritual Army to put a STOP to the anarchy.
A number of verses reveal the Rapture will occur at the time the Seventh Angel blows his trumpet in Revelation. So we will see everything happening in Revelation on Earth before then. Though many will leave this physical world and be in a Higher World already when Christ comes to gather everyone together, and take them to the Higher Worlds. To be Rulers over Creation along with our Creator, Christ, and the Angels.

Did a historical Jesus exist?
http://www.nobeliefs.com/exist.htm
ALL CLAIMS OF JESUS DERIVE FROM HEARSAY ACCOUNTS
No one has the slightest physical evidence to support a historical Jesus; no artifacts, dwelling, works of carpentry, or self-written manuscripts. All claims about Jesus derive from writings of other people. There occurs no contemporary Roman record that shows Pontius Pilate executing a man named Jesus. Devastating to historians, there occurs not a single contemporary writing that mentions Jesus. All documents about Jesus got written well after the life of the alleged Jesus from either: unknown authors, people who had never met an earthly Jesus, or from fraudulent, mythical or allegorical writings. Although one can argue that many of these writings come from fraud or interpolations, I will use the information and dates to show that even if these sources did not come from interpolations, they could still not serve as reliable evidence for a historical Jesus, simply because all sources derive from hearsay accounts.

I hope so :) I'm praying to god that I will live to see His son one day. But nobody knows. God has His ways and will do when he thinks it's time. I personally do think it's the right time though. I mean look at us! Here on earth, we're Satan's slaves!!! We need some motivation.

The time that Jesus returns is unknown to all, but God himself. Be ever vigiliant, lest judgement day will sneak up like a thief in the night.
