To me, it was the fact that Jesus claimed to be God in physical form and that he fulfilled the prophecy of being Savior of all mankind from the Old Testament, which is from more than 2,000 years before his time..

He is also my personal Savior and that's what makes everything different and the fact that He loved me enough to die for my sins and give me a new life. There is even archaelogy evidence of the Bible. The fact that Christianity has lasted throughout 2,000 years and struck such controversy like no other is huge to me. If it weren't right, then why such an argument when other religions are accepted by a lot of people without a second glance..

Btw, atheist, muslim, hindu, buddhist, etc responses welcome. :)

Try the fact that Jesus is ALIVE, while Buddah, Mohammed, Joseph Smith, et. al, are DEAD....

here's some interesting facts about the prophecies Jesus fulfilled:

``In the case of Jesus, he fulfilled over three hundred propecies (spoken by different voices over 500 years), including twenty-nine major prophecies fulfilled on a single day - the day he died.'' Since many of these prophecies were to do with the place and manner of his death, and even the place of his birth, he could hardly have deliberately set out to fulfil them!

Just suppose the chance of each one of those prophecies being fulfilled in isolation was a very generous 50%. Then the chance of three hundred such prophecies all being fulfilled is the same as that of three hundred consecutive coin-tosses all coming up tails: one in 2037035976334486086268445688409378161051468393665936250636140449354381299763336706183397376 - that is, about one in two million million million million million million million million million million million million million million million. These are by no means exact numbers, as any mathematician who knows anything about probability theory will tell you; but it's a starting point for thinking about these issues. "

Jesus is a prophet of God. I am Muslim and I believe this to be true, oh and btw I have given it a second AND a third and a forth etc etc glances. I am Muslim because I believe that Islam is the final religion of God. Jesus promised of someone to come after him to convey the message of God, don't tell me that he was talking a bout a ghost :S , in what way did the ''holy spirit'' convey any message about God after Jesus ????? Christianity has lasted but it has lost it's original scripture, how can you say that God would leave us with Man-corrupted Scripture, how can I rely on the Bible if I don't even know which parts of it are from God and which aren't ? How did Mohammed (pbuh) know ALL these scientific facts that you can find in the Quran, him being an illiterate man? why are all the ''contradictions'' that people try to find in the Quran always refuted and proven false? If you think that I accept my Religion without a second glance then I am ready to give you as many reasons as you like on why I accept it as a religion, and believe in Jesus AND in Mohammed (may peace be upon both of them).

The prophecies that supposedly foresaw the coming of Jesus were written a few centuries before his time.

But I digress. Jesus may have been a real person, though I doubt it. His life bares close resemblance to other messianic figures of the time, notably Minthria, Orpheus and Zarathustra. There is written and archaeological evidence for some Biblical accounts. There is also evidence that Biblical accounts originated in Sumerian and Assyrian myths. The Bible describes and Earth centered universe, in which our planet is set upon pillars, motionless. This contradicts logic and science.

If Christianity is true because it has lasted 2000 years, then is Islam at least partly true because it has lasted 1400 years? Hinduism is older than Judaism by at least 1000 years? Is Hinduism the true faith? I think none of them are.

Aren't most Christians members of the same faith they grew up in? Have any of them given Islam or Buddhism a "second glance"?

There's no rational basis for accepting Christianity as remarkable as a faith, though its impact on history cannot be overlooked.

God willing to lives as a man and be tempted and subjected to all manners of limitation as a man and yet without a single sin.
That is amazing - a miracle itself. Satan, the devil tried their best but to no avail. Jesus says, Satan came and can found nothing in Him (that is wanting) Hallelujah ! and that alone qualified Him to died for my death and sin and the whole world too!
There is never such a Man as this ! Even God the Father is Well pleased with His Son and He testified to it ! Please go and read the Scriptures for yourselves to see if what I said is true or not ?

The best way to answer is this:

All religions are man made b'cos nobody has a clue how to lead a peaceful life. There were people who wanted to bring social norms into life for everybody to live harmoniously.

Jesus was a WISE MAN.

Others like Mohammad, Moon (Moon clan) and various other scamsters are at best scamsters.

Thats why He is different than others because he did not scam other people, he did not loot other people, he did not hurt other people.

I am a Hindu and this is my view of why he is different.

The biggest difference is one Major thing. In Christianity God does the perfect work for us. Every other religion there is a for of works required. 5 prayers a day, meditation, going door to door and so on. What makes them different is that they say man must do this to get into heaven to please God. Christianity says there is nothing man can do every thing we do falls short of the Glory of God.

Rom 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

So this is why I love Jesus, I understand that even the best works I put forth are nothing compared to the works of God. It was him that did all the work for me showing his perfect love. A love that even though I do not deserve it I receive free with no work but to except the free gift. There is nothing more secure in the world than know my salvation is not in my hands but in the hands of YHVA the one and True God through Jesus Christ.

No opne can take away what GOd has done for me not even myself.

God bless

--YOU WILL NOT find 1 place in the Bible that Jesus SAID he was God!
-----DIRECTLY or INDIRECTLY!
**YOU WILL FIND places where Jesus said he was the "Son of God"; "God's Son"" Son of Man"

--HE DID SAY this about his relationship with HIS father & God-- Jehovah:
(John 20:17-18) “. . .Jesus said to her: “Stop clinging to me. For I have not yet ascended to the Father. But be on your way to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and YOUR Father and to my God and YOUR God.’” 18 Mary Mag′da·lene came and brought the news to the disciples: “I have seen the Lord!” and that he said these things to her.”

--NOW , just think about that statement to Mary! He put himself at EQUAL with a woman who was once possessed by demons(not a prostitute) in that he said "to my Father & Your Father to my God & your God",--at that very instance there was absolutely no superiority of him over her!---EVEN THOUGH he was Jehovah God's only begotten Son!

--THIS IS WHAT others have said of his being the greatest man that ever lived!

*** gt The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived
--The historian H. G. Wells said that a man’s greatness can be measured by ‘what he leaves to grow, and whether he started others to think along fresh lines with a vigor that persisted after him.’ Wells, although not claiming to be a Christian, acknowledged: “By this test Jesus stands first.”.....
....Yet, Napoleon is reported to have said: “Jesus Christ has influenced and commanded His subjects without His visible bodily presence.”.......
.......As one writer aptly expressed it: “All the armies that ever marched, and all the navies that ever were built, and all the parliaments that ever sat, all the kings that ever reigned, put together have not affected the life of man upon this earth as powerfully.”
***A Historical Person
Yet, strangely, some say that Jesus never lived—that he is, in effect, a creation of some first-century men. Answering such skeptics, the respected historian Will Durant argued: “That a few simple men should in one generation have invented so powerful and appealing a personality, so lofty an ethic and so inspiring a vision of human brotherhood, would be a miracle far more incredible than any recorded in the Gospels.”
The reference work The Historians’ History of the World observed: “The historical result of [Jesus’] activities was more momentous, even from a strictly secular standpoint, than the deeds of any other character of history. A new era, recognised by the chief civilisations of the world, dates from his birth.”

--SHOULD NOT such applauds be amazing enough to warrunt that he indeed was the "son of God" & "The Greatest Man That Ever Lived?"

--WHY MAKE him something that he rejected time after time and would never try to usurp his Fathers Godship, as Satan has-
--in the form of the trinity or whatever concept?

--ITS GOOD he is your savior , but you leave out a very important point , he was provided as our savior by God, not by himself!

Jesus has never proclaimed himself to be God, it was peter that said he was the Messiah, Jesus was a man made of flesh and blood just like you and I, and the only difference between him and me is, he was a rebel and he went against the grain of society in those days,it was Emperor Constantine that saw Christianity as a road to wealth, power, and control, and brought Christianity to what we know it today, and it wasn't because he thought Jesus was a lord and saviour, Jesus spoke wise and comforting words, and Constantine took advantage of those wise words and made it law for his benefit no one Else's, and that is why Christianity has been so successful up to now, so if you want a saviour pray to Constantine because it was he that kept Christianity alive for you to worship today.

Different from the rest? Who? Horus, Dionysus, Mithra? The story of Jesus is a copy of the others and is the last in a long line of so called Gods who were born of a Virgin on the 25th of December. The reason for the longevity of the story and resulting beliefs is because it was adopted by the Catholic church and spread as truth by its Priests for centuries. The greatest HOAX ever perpetuated on mankind.

There is absolutely nothing original in Christianity, not a single thing, not even one. All the following can be found in earlier pagan religions...

- god-man
- born of a virgin
- did miracles & healed
- saved the world
- 12 disciples
- last supper with bread & wine
- traitor
- walking on water
- parables
- son of god
- died for sins
- resurrected from the dead
- father in heaven
- trinity
- and much more

Now how can Christianity possibly be authentic?
