Did you know that was referring to the Pharisees and not to Christians? Read the context of the passage...the Pharisees were accusing Jesus of using Satan's powers. It goes on to state that a "Christian" cannot blasphemy the Holy Spirit.

Mark 3:22-30 states,

"And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, 'He has Beelzebub,' and, 'By the ruler of the demons He casts out demons.' …'Assuredly, I [Jesus] say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they may utter; but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation;' because they said, 'He has an unclean spirit'"

A true Christian cannot commit a sin for which there is no forgiveness. We are protected by the power of God (1 Peter 1:5). Although we can certainly grieve the Holy Spirit, he still seals us for the day of redemption (Ephesians 4:30). The Apostle Paul was confident "that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ" (Philippians 1:6, NKJV).

You're correct. But, many people get confused on what it means to blaspheme against the Holy Ghost. One cannot just say "I deny the Holy Ghost" or "I blaspheme against the Holy Ghost" and think they'll be sent directly to hell. There has to be a level of understanding and a level of knowledge. Cain knew exactly who God was and even spoke to Him. And with that perfect knowledge, he sinned against God willingly and murdered Abel. That's when he became the son of perdition. He sinned against that perfect knowledge, which is the same as sinning against the Holy Ghost. Cain didn't really need faith because he had a knowledge. It would have been better for him not to be born. The judgments and punishments are harsher with those that know what's right and what's wrong. A 30 year old adult will be punished stronger than a 4 year old child would because the adult knows better. There's a difference between their knowledge and understanding.

Since we don't know God personally, we can still repent and be forgiven. The sadducees and pharisees, as well as Judas Iscariot knew Christ personally. How many witnesses have they received of who He was? That's why the judgments and punishments were alot more harsher on them.

I saw a show on TV where people were saying, "I deny the Holy Spirit" and didn't care. Because they don't have that perfect knowledge and understanding of who God is, they can be forgiven. Once you have that perfect knowledge and understanding and sin anyways and fight against God, that's when you sin against the Holy Ghost and will not forgiven and become a son/daughter of Perdition.

I just wanted to comment real quickly on the comment about Adam and Eve. While they were in the Garden of Eden, they were like children. They were innocent and didn't know the difference between good and evil until they partook of the forbidden fruit from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. This allowed them to know the difference between right and wrong, good and evil. This suddenly became a knowledge to them, after the fact. Once they received this knowledge, then they can truly choose for themselves between good and evil. And as proven by their lives after this fruit of knowledge, you can see which side they chose to follow. They chose to follow God and not Satan. If they chose to follow Satan and fight against God after this knowledge, then that's when the Spirit of God leaves and is replaced by the spirit of the devil, thus becoming a son of perdition, never to be forgiven.

Yes, Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is rejecting it, as something evil. The pharisees told Jesus he had an evil spirit. That's when Jesus said you are in danger of blaspheming the Holy Spirit, for which there is no forgiveness.
So rejecting Jesus Christ as not being from God, will ultimately result in blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. "No one can confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh, except it be by the Holy Spirit."

I don't know where you get your ideas about what "blasphemy against the Holy Spirit" is....but in CONTEXT of the passage, Jesus is saying that if somebody claims that the Holy Spirit comes from the Devil (in the case of this particular context, it says Beelzebub) - they are commiting the unforgivable sin.

Please...do a little study!

Absolutely. When Herod blasphemed God, he was smitten by God as he sat on his throne. Worms ate him alive from the inside out.

Words of caution!

Act 12:21 And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them.

Act 12:22 And the people gave a shout, [saying, It is] the voice of a god, and not of a man.

Act 12:23 And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.

Act 12:24 But the word of God grew and multiplied.

HEROD DIED BUT THE WORD OF GOD GREW AND WAS MULTIPLIED!

yes, and one CAN deny the son of man-'jesus' and be forgiven. One should tell the christians that have been promoting the 'convert or die' motto for centuries.

God is said to be everything, so then why do alot of christians have issues with the pagani traditions that say god is a woman?!? Isn't a woman considered part of EVERYTHING?!?
