With the stone and fireplace you need to brighten the room up and get rid of the striped paper and replace with a lighter color paint to lighten things up. I would get some wall decor to fill in the space between the door and window. I love all the plants maybe you could go with a carribbean of seascape print to accentuate the plants you have.

I would go with a light sage green for the walls. The rug and upholstered furniture looks fine as well as the plants. I would put up light sage sheers and use a fern pattern for the sheer scarf draped over sheers. IF you need to cut down on glare to the TV, consider off-white or ivory roman shades under the sheers.

I would consider going with the wood color on the table with the marble top. The throw pillows should be in various shades of sage green and yellow-gold.

I like the green paint and pattern, but it is too dark for the room.
1] paint the bottom half a deep shade of the color picked, and the top a lighter shade.
2] get blinds/shades/or draperies the color of walls, or sheers.
3] suggest light sand or ivory canvas slip covers or upholstery
4] put up mirror opposite windows to reflect light
5] standing lamps in wall corners opposite window/door [ brass with white/ivory shades ]
6] like the plants!
7] like the rug!
8] love the marble table
Paint Suggestions:
peach and rust or terracotta
banana and golden yellow
celery green and fern green
lime and kelly
aqua and turquoise
ivory and caramel
Add some throw pillows in the wall colors, and some brass or crystal ornaments to reflect more light.
PS: all sleeping children are beautiful!

I would get rid of the green paint and striped wallpaper. Your fireplace will look great if it isn't in competion with the walls. Paint the top half of the wall a light sandy color and the bottom half a toffee or caramel shade. I would also change the curtain to blend with the walls. I like the furniture and rug and a SLEEPING 3 year old is absolutely wonderful!

Strip the wall paper and paint the room gold. Then get two big pillows with gold, brown, and/or greens to tie it together.
