You really should seek professional help. Being Bipolar means that you have a chemical imbalance, and not amount of "pick me ups" will work. You can regulate your moods with medication. Please take care of yourself. Get the medical and psychological help you need.

Hi Computer Guy:
HANG IN THERE!
First, please call your doctor and make an appointment for tomorrow. That is the first step.
Let your support system know that you are cycling down into depression. This way they will know and be there for you to make sure you are ok and safe.
If you are on medication, then please make sure that you take your meds as directed. NO more and NO less. As directed.
Talk with others who understand an maybe just having someone there to listen or chat with, rant and rave to, cry to, whatever it is that you need. I am sure that will help. It helps me sometimes.
I know being depressed it is hard to do anything, but keep trying and push yourself a little to find even something as small as a thought that will make you smile a little.
If you become worse before you can get to the doc, and you may hurt yourself, then call 911 IMMEDIATELY please or go to the nearest ER and let them know so they may help you right there.
Remember, Bipolar cycles. I do not know the history of your cycles but please remember that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Yes, I know the tunnel is dark and long, but it does end eventually and that is the goal to happen to your depressive stage...to have it end.
Fight it, and WIN this battle, dont't let the depression win because you are an important and strong person and depression is tiny and weak. You can beat it. Remember that please.
If you need someone to talk to or whatever reason it is, my contact information is in my profile, please feel free to use it at any time.
Hang in there, be strong, try to smile, lean on your support team, see your doc, go to the ER if you must. Do whatever it takes to pull out of this.
Be safe and be well

Believe me when I tell you that bipolar disorder reacts to medication and rarely can be brought under control by a new thought process....although it happens occasionally. You will need to take medication for hyper to reduce its effect and to restore you to the middle of the bipolar event which is considered to be normal. Another med which will keep you in the middle and still another med to keep you from becoming depressed. It takes very careful manipulation of these three drugs to keep a bipolar person in balance. A family doctor cannot do this (at least 95% of them can't since they have not been trained sufficiently in mental disorders) and so it is important that you find a psychiatrist who has experience with this type of illness. No one on this site will give you the complete details on how to resolve your disorder on your own because it cannot be done. You require professional help with specific drugs for the problem. It will take time for you to obtain the correct balance of the three drugs because the drugs will at first throw you from depression into hyper and back and forth until the correct ratio is obtained. 50 years ago bipolar (which was called manic-depression) required shock treatments along with the drugs but it is rarely used today. The drugs seem to do the job.

Exercise or so they say, but I know that it is REALLY hard to motivate yourself to do anything right now. Your psychiatrist should be treating you with medication so you will come out of this. This is a chemical imbalance, so the best way to stabilize is to get the proper medications. It is just like diabetes, they have to insulin every day, you have to take your meds every day. Have your doctor try Lamictal or Litium, paired with Seroquel.
Good luck, and hang in there.

Um... go outside and write or draw. Then interact with people. I don't know, if that doesn't work, then see a psychiatrist because there is medication for that. I don't get depressed too much, so I don't really know... Oh, triptaphan (sp?) in turkey and omega-3 in fish should help. Also flax seeds. Maybe these sites will help (I just googled...)

You need to go to a doctor and be on a Cognative Behavioural Therapy course, possibly augmentied with drug treatment.
You shouldn`t be in this situation now.
In the meantime try not to spend too much time alone, avoid drink and get lots of exercise, ideally outdoors.
Make an appointment with your doctor.

Exercise can often help (whatever kind works best for you). Also, I had a bipolar roommate who would be extra careful to make sure she ate healthily. It seemed to help her. Also, try to get out in the sunshine, if you can. Call friends, send e-mails (or if you really want to make someone else happy, send them good old snail mail!).
Good luck! Hope you're feeling better soon!

Give it time and think of all the good things in your life. If you haven't got any happy thoughts, think of the person that most pissed you off in your life and think of ways to hurt them. If not, I hope you come out of this in one piece from one bipolar to another.

Get medicated. You could try exercise, but if you're really bipolar you will need medication to balance the swings.
