Catfish are the best unknown sportfish around. They fight like a log and can get up into the hundreds of pounds. I am a member of four catfish clubs and fish tourneys in 3 states. I know people think a bass can fight but, when is the last time you hooked a fifty pound bass? Have you ever had your boat, with the anchors down, get pulled loose by a bass? Ever had a bass break 50 pound test? I was wondering if your dad bought them to eat are stock a pond? Either way they are good to eat and fun to catch.

It is good if cleaned properly. Check it for dark looking meat on one side. If you see that then you need to trim that off. It is often found in the larger catfish and can have an unpleasant taste. Other than that, tastes great. I eat it all the time.

All I know about catfish is that fast food restaurant chains raise them on huge farms and then make fish burgers out of them.

Good stuff. You need slaw, hush puppies, green fried maters, and fried pickles, french fries.
