Why wouldn't he? Why do you assume that if God cares about us, we must be number one? God cares about each of us, individually, as much as if we were the only thing to ever exist in the universe. He's God; he can do it.

If you believe that this vast world and universe full of every kind of imaginable life form is all just a big accident... then you would have a hard time understanding God.
I believe that only an all-powerful being could have created something so beautiful and amazing and wonderful as this world full of people and other life forms.
And people are just so amazing!! To be able to think and reason... and even question the existence of our own maker!!
If YOU were "God" and you created a little "world" in a shoe box, and made each little plant and bug in your shoe box....
would YOU care about each one? Of course you would.

Think about it....Anything that takes time and effort in creating is thought of as special and cared for!! God made the entire universe in 6 days and then rested on the 7th day. Just looking at my life and how I have been blessed with such a wonderful family and friends, animals, flowers, grass, trees, and beautiful skies...I know that GOD created everything!! I can only hope and pray that you believe in HIM as I do, and as others do, too!!
God Bless!! (:

To say God created the universe just for us is egocentric, but even though the typical believer's argument (omnipresence) may not be incredibly logical or believable to a non-believer, your argument pails in comparison. Let believers believe and live your life your own way. Don't get me wrong, I'm (a Pantheist) not fundamentalist. I'm just saying, you're not going to change people. Stop wasting your time.

It makes a lot of sense when you put into perspective who made the universe. I believe in evolution.
God is in each and every one of us, whether we want Him to be or not. This is why he cares. He gave us our souls which animates our bodies. Yes, there are physical bodily functions which determine when life begins and ends. I'm talking about the Divine spark which is your soul. That piece of God within you. He gives life and animation to our bodies.
P.S. We're not the only ones in this particular universe and many others that are inhabited. They all have bodies in motion because of the souls He gives to them as well.
It's really vain to think we are the ONLY ones, even for an atheist.

It is obvious that you overthink things too much. So basically what your saying is that God just can't be , but the "vast universe" has always been?
Also, God IS Love! I don't know why it's so hard for people to know there's a God that they cannot see or touch but can believe in love which is pretty much the same concept.
It makes sense...think about it...

It does if you have a child of your own.
Most parents love their children so much, they want the best for their children.
We are the children of God. He is our Creator and also our Father (Yep, we have a Mother in Heaven, too. The Goddess appears in just as much ancient lit as God. It was the Catholics who eliminated the Goddess in favor of giving more absolute power to God and ultimately, the King of the Country and the Pope). He is a Father who wants what is best for His Children. He created this planet and our universe so that we may have a physical body and learn what kind of people we are when we believe He is not around. (Didn't you behave worse when YOUR parents weren't around?) This planet is for our learning and experience, both good and bad. We have been given free agency to choose and learn in the process. Sometimes God allows bad things to happen, not because He does not love us but because, no matter how much it hurts, He does not want to take away the free agency of those who wish to do evil. (Now THAT'S love.)
He did not just leave us hanging, though. He provided a way to return to His presence through the Atonement, crucifixion, and resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ. That is the GOOD NEWS. We can repent (apologize) for our sins, and learn how to stop sinning in order to return to God's presence.
We are not number one. Many believe that God created more than one universe and lots more planets that can sustain human life. (How silly is it to assume, in this huge expanse of space, that WE are the only life in it?) We have only been encapsulated and protected so that we do not destroy the aliens who might have knowledge to share (don't we always kill and destroy almost all of the aliens in the movies? Haven't we stupidly destroyed or maimed several archeological sites and destroyed knowledge in the process? Don't we laugh, make fun of, deny, and ultimately put to death prophets, seers, and revelators?)
It is up to us to discover truth out of lies, to seek out light instead of darkness. I, for one, choose to seek out light and truth. May you be able to do the same.

God loves His whole creation. If you have ever created something all by yourself, you have a little understanding of this.
That He made us to be His highest form in creation doesn't take away from His love of the rest. It is only a different form of love......as the difference of an artist loving his art, but also having their own child to love.

God would not take the time to put Himself into HUMAN FORM and place Himself in subjection to the very people He created, and actually COME TO DIE FOR THEM if He didnt care.
If I were God, I wouldnt care enuff to do this. But HE DID> So He must have His reasons. I would venture to say that its because God doesnt just LOVE as part of His personality, but He IS Love.

I don't know. I think of that often. I am less than nothing, but He knows the number of hairs on my head. He promises me that if I commit my ways to Him, He will give me the desires of my heart. He even gave His son so that my sins would be forgiven. Why does He love me so much? I don't know, but His word promises that He does.
