I thought maybe way up north like Alaska where it might be easier to come by. I never thought frozen water 2 be a commodity.

Probably not. I live up north. Ice is usually $1.99 for a bag.

I can see the point to your question, regarding way up north, but these days, Ice you buy is made in a factory. Gone are the days of "Ice Houses" where people would "harvest" ice from frozen bodies of water and then store it in a cool farm building, buried under saw dust. A long time ago, I had a really old neighbor who still lived on a farm and long ago they stopped using their ice house to store ice.

I live in Alaska $2.50 is average price for a bag of Ice. They also only sell cubes up here, no blocks of ice so you have to buy twice as much.

pure water, frozen, is more expensive where it is needed. summer and hot sells ice.

Not North but in Bakersfield,Ca. it runs 2.00 for a 7 lb. bag....

no its about the same nomatter where you live 1.50 in kansas i spend a lot of time in the northern states & its 1.25 to 1.99 in most places

Why should you buy ice when you make it easy in your deepfreezing compartiment of your freezer?
