Don't put alcohol on it dude.
Abreva works best, but it is expensive.
you can even use it when you feel a cold sore coming on, and it will go away befire it appears.

It normally takes about 2 weeks if you choose to wait it out. I use a cold sore remedies program that got rid of my cold sores in 3 days and kept my cold sores away for good.

yikes. alcohol doesn't seem like a good policy. anyhow, yes there is cold sore medication at the store, in the drugstore section. i'm sorry i can't tell you more detailed than that but it does exist and it says what it's for on the package.

lysine, it is an herbal ointment. it also comes in a vitamin supplement form. i use the gel/lotion on my lip and it works everytime. the sooner you treat it the better, if you catch it when your lip just feels tender, the quicker the healing time. if not, it helps but you will suffer. you can purchase lysine at a drug store or vitamin/herbal store

a vitamin supplement called L-lysine will help heal it faster and if you take it when you start to feel one coming on you won't get one. you can buy it at any store that sells vitamins.
