Does anyone have any? I've already tried the whole Olive Oil method so don't include anything on that since it didn't work for me. Does a haircut really help for dry hair? How's Mayo?

Don't really care for using mayo to condition hair - it leaves an unpleasant residue.

Here are some alternatives: Shiny Soft Hair Treatment
In a small bowl, mash and combine: 1 avocado (1/2 for shorter hair)
1 egg yolk
1/2 teaspoon olive oil

Apply to hair and allow to remain 30 minutes or longer, then shampoo and condition as usual. http://www.care2.com/greenliving/avocado-kitchen-cupboard-beauty-tips.html

Banana Bread Head

* 1-2 ripe bananas
* 1-2 tablespoons honey

Directions:

Mix together banana, and honey in a blender. Wet hair with warm water and apply. For extra penetration, use plastic shower cap or wrap your hair with a towel. Wait about 20 minutes - perfect time to try the banana mask below - then rinse thoroughly, following with shampoo and conditioner as usual.

Mashed banana functions as a mucilage, much like aloe vera gel, protecting hair from environmental damage and smoothing frizzy flyaway hair. By bringing moisture to the surface of your scalp, this pack also serves as an excellent treatment for a dry, flaky scalp. http://www.dolenutrition.com/spa_recipes_hair_1.aspx

Getting your hair trimmed will help remove dry ends & prevent them from fraying and splitting.

Running a tiny drop of 100% jojoba oil through your hair will add a bit of sheen & help moisturize your hair. It's non-comedogenic & easy to wash out.

Well, I know some ppl who've done the mayo thing, but a really really bad side affect is that your hair will stink for weeks.

But try this:
when you're in the shower, make sure your hair is drenched then shampoo, rinse and shampoo again
now when you condition your hair ream out as much water as you can, then condition, and when i say condition i don't mean smooth over your head, actually work it into all of your hair and then, rinse.

If it works for you let me know please. =]

i just have a haircut, and they remove my dry hair at the ends... and it looks nice now.. i have this cheap hot oil treatment, and it's also effective.. so just buy any hair treatment (hair spa or hot oil) then put it on your hair, once a week, and cover it with shower cap. leave it for an hour, the results would be great!

Cutting off any dead ends, etc. helps improve health of hair, if you don't cut them off eventually you hair may split up the entire hair shaft. I don't like mayo, eggs, etc. they did nothing for me. However I do like cholesterol deep conditioners, and hot oil treatments. Also stay away from products containing alcohol.

wash your hair and then put in conditioner but do not wash it out. leave it in the hair and wrap a towel around your head. leave in the conditioner for 10min. this makes a deep conditioning for you hair.
