Is there some kind of codec I have to download? Please only answer if you have a good idea on what I should do.

Yeah sorry I already have quicktime installed, some of you have no idea what your talking about. I'm not a newbie when it comes to computers, but I know I can get winamp to play .mov files, I just don't know exactly how to get it to run.

The fact that I have quicktime installed on my comp is a testament that SOME of you have no idea what your talking about.

This is directly from the Winamp website:

- QuickTime MOV support
If QuickTime Player is installed, and you absolutely need it (ie. if you use iTunes/iTMS, ick), then use the Nullsoft in_qt.dll plugin for MOV support. Note, you may need to disable built-in vis (spectrum/beatvis) to avoid a crash.
Or, alternatively, if you don't need QuickTime Player to be installed, uninstall it (assuming it was installed in the first place), install QT Alternative, and add ;MOV to Winamp's DirectShow Decoder extension list @ prefs > plugins > input > in_dshow > config. (note: latest in_qt supports qt, mov, m4v, m4p, m4b - proprietary protected formats require QuickTime Player to be installed, not QT Alt).

Download and install QuickTime... that should do the trick.

IMHO ZoomPlayer is a much better alternative to WinAMP and plays absolutely anything. To top it off there is a feature in the interface to show you all the missing codecs on your system.... and install them for you! Brilliant stuff!

You can download the FREE standard edition here:

Winamp is for playing MPEG that includes some video that is copied on the MP Format
If it was done on the standard Video-TS Format it probably won't play.

set the master control program to winamp.

Right click the file > properties > "Opens With" click change > choose winamp

and if you have Quicktime or iTunes you won't have to download any codecs.

if you don't- get the K-Lite codec pack (it has everything)

WinAmp can't play .mov files - quit wasting your time trying to do the impossible.
