I have a very nice brown pasley comforter by nautica (light and dark brown) and i need help with a decorating sceme. i've kinda settled with an orange color for the walls and matching brown and orange furniture. is this a good choice? should i go with some other colors? are there any more colors that would look good? also if you know of a free 3d bedroom design place where i can design my bedroom that would be great thanks.

I would do an accent wall in the orange but the other three walls in a beige or taupe. I would use either light oak or walnut wood finish. Use orange as the accent with perhaps a bit of a warm yellow-gold. Orange frames on the beige wall, and a dark brown for frames or shelves on the orange wall.

Another idea would be to incorporate a turquoise or teal for a contrast.

I would use tan, beige or ecru on the walls. That way when you change bedding colors, just about any color would go with the wall scheme and you wouldn't have to repaint.. I also like pastel yellow accents with dark brown. A splash of orange in the form of throw pillows or pictures on the wall would break up the monochromatic feel of the room and give it some life. But, it's your room and whatever you feel cozy in is the way to go.

1] paint the walls ivory, or three ivory and one orange or peach [ whatever shade you like ] at head of bed
2] get window treatments in a brown or orange
3] ivory or brown reading chair [ much more versatile ]
4] orange throw pillows, or orange/brown print
5] brass lamps with white or ivory shades; on bedside tables and by reading chair - if dark room, also on ends of dresser
6] ornaments in ivory, brown, and brass/gold
7] art that includes somecolors of the room
8] a green plant or tree [ even fake ]

Forest green accents would go beautifully with the brown & orange.
