He probably would, but he would want to
treat you for depression also.

Doctors Note For Depression

2016-11-08 04:29:59 · answer #2 · answered by ? 4 · 0 0

I have been suffering from post partum depression for the past one year when I gave birth to a baby boy. I couldn't stop thinking about how my husband loves him more than me and how things might be better if he wasn't born at all. Thus, I stayed away from him because I knew that I might do something I will regret for the rest of my life.

Almost instantly I went to a therapist and convince them that I need help. Among other things, I've tried herbal supplements and other book to treat depression but nothing works like the Depression Free Method. So now I'm proud to say I'm one of the happiest mother in the world. My husband loves us both very much and I thank the Lord for the blessing he gave us.

Depression Free Method?

I think it depends on the doctor. If you are feeling that bad, it may be better to talk to a counselor, or psychiatrist... they may be able to write you a note as well.
It might also help if you can find someone you trust that you can talk about it with. That may also help a lot for the long-term.

Of course, there's also a difference between a doctor writing a note, and your school/work accepting the reason on the note. Some places wouldn't accept an excuse of depression as a reason for tardy/absent or not doing certain activities.... but it's worth a shot.

Your doctor should. Go to him and tell him you are feeling depressed and have no ambition to get up in the morning and it is affecting your job, and you would like some time to perhaps seek some counseling. He will want to learn if it is a long term depression, meaning another diagnosis, or a life changing event that perhaps just happened. He will hopefully ask you alot of questions and determine if you need an antidepressant. Best of luck to you, been there, it's not a good feeling and I hope you can get back to your old self soon.
Your employer should have to accept it if your doctor writes it, your employer's are NOT doctors, they might tell you you have to go to EAP if your company has one and talk to someone there, but if you do, don't stop your own doctor and resources. Again, remember, they are not doctors who you work for.

I never was able to use a doctor's note when I was in high school. I failed tests because I couldn't cope with my emotions... Thing is, I am a highly intelligent person. I never EVER had to study, and could pass on a regular day, no problem. You shouldn't have to deal with stuff like that, but it's the pathetic, ugly truth of it.

A note for depression won't work. But better yet would be for him to give you an anti-depressant! As long as you tell him EVERYTHING, he'll know which med will work best for you. As a fellow sufferer, I can tell you that your depression will lift within a few days to 2 weeks. You won't just be going through the motions anymore. You'll be out of that big black hole!! Do it!! It'll be the best thing you've ever done for yourself. :)

they probably won't just write the note without assessing the issues first maybe give you an anti-depressant and then you say that you want a note to have a few days off to deal with your issues.

a doctor can certainly write you a note, but whether or not your employer will accept your absence on that basis is highly questionable. For some reason clinical depression is not considered a valid reason for absenteeism.

More and more employers are recognizing depression as a medical condition. so talk with someone in your administrative and/or personel office about using sick leave for doctor visits and treatment away from the office!

I'm hoping someone tells you yes. I miss so much school because i jsut get depressed and cant make myself go. I try and tell mom but she thinks its stupid excuse for missing and dosnt really believe in depression.

Point is it happens every now and again, and never long periods or suicidal thoughts.

so id love to be able to miss.
