Mono is caused by the Epstein-Barr virus. There are no medications to "cure" this virus. The disease causes symptoms of fever, sore throat and fatigue for about six weeks, best treated with rest at home, plenty of fluids and a balanced diet. Fever, body aches and sore throat can be controlled with Ibuprofen or Acetaminophen. Be aware that the disease is contagious, so don't allow others to drink or eat after you and refrain from close personal contact while you have symptoms. If symptoms become worse, or you develop difficulty breathing or abdominal pain, you should seek medical attention immediately.

I think mono is something you have to go to the doctor to get the medicine for. It is a virus last time I checked though, then again that was a long time ago. Just don't kiss your friend, or drink after them. I am pretty sure after you've got it, you get really sick and skinny. Be careful!!!

mono is caused by a virus, there is no medicine for that. All you can do is minimize the effects of infection by getting a lot of rest, and drinking a lot of fluids.
Famvir, will not "cure" mono, it simply lessens the severity of the symptoms.

make sure you get a lot of rest!!! I mean laying down in bed all day. i had mono couple of years ago, it messed up my immune system (caught pneumonia afterwards) i got really skinny, doctors gave me a lot of infusions and penicillins. the thing is that your spleen gets enlarged so you have to be still and rest at least for a month (even though you feel better). do not neglect it! go to see a doctor!!

Mono can not be treated, there is no medication for it, it's one of those things you have to let your body get rid of naturally.

You should just get some rest.
