You may want to check with OCEA most places require close toed shoes with non slip soles so placement on your foot would not be an issue. And from a young woman in a professional government job flip flops are not appropriate at work under any circumstances. Balette flats are a great altermative.

I have Phil Ochs tattooed on my arm (people singer) I even have "Never Die" and a rose tattooed throughout my ft, with a tigerbat above the ft on my left foot for Tiger Army. I see me getting a pair extra musician tattoos. I have an Ochs lyric tattoed around the again of my neck (Sacred are the scars) and an Op Ivy lyric around the insides of each palms (It's lovely I could say... I would not have it every other manner.) I'm considering a sizzling-rod tradition tat, skulls and roses and a banner, gotta opt for the lyric to head within the banner although. As it stands at present, I'd mostly decide upon "In loss of life as in existence, I will come up" or "My sense of right and wrong incorporates the load of blood."

If you have to ask others whether or not you should get a tattoo then the answer is "No".
I have 26 tattoos and I have a "good job" and I work in a professional environment. In fact, I worked for several top Boston law firms for years, displaying all of my art. At least 6 of my tattoos are always visible. I am very fortunate that my current employer accepts me for who I am and that I do not have to cover my ink. My tattoos do not effect my job skills.
I am tired of people that "assume" people with tattoos, body piercings or "out of the ordinary" hair colors are trashy and uneducated. None of these factors effect how well people perform on the job.

If you are asking the question, I get the impression you are having doubts, in which case I would encourage you to really think long and hard about the tattoo.
I work in business and have 5. Because of tattoos on my legs I have to wear opaque stockings or pants and I never wear sleeveless blouses.
So long as you put them in places where they can be covered if your professional life needs them covered - I say go for it.
Also make sure what the tattoo is of is not offensive to anyone - - - that way in case it is seen it won't be as big a deal.

I have 7 tattoos, some I regret, some I like. I can cover all mine up if necessary with just clothing. The one on my ankle shows the most but my employer has never said anything about it because it is tasteful. If you want to get the one on your foot, go for it. If you're going to be a chef you have to wear close toed shoes anyways. If you're having second thoguhts on it though, don't get it. You don't want to regret it.

When in doubt, don't.
Time is on your side...
Think about it for a
little longer. When you
are really sure, that's the
time to go in and get it done.
Your artist will help you with
the proper placement.

just get one when you are ready. and by ready i mean, when you think it up, make sure it is something meaningful to you and not just a spur of the moment idea. draw up some ideas in your head and see which ones stick with you overtime.
