Im a US citizen, but if i went to the uk and hadnt got citizenship would i be able to work there?

You would be better asking the British Embassy, as any answer you got on here might not be accurate, and it's best to be sure before shelling out for the airfare.
There are big fines for employers who employ people who don't have permission to work in the UK, recently introduced, so most won't risk it.

UK ?? come on !! people r running away from uk and u wanna build ur future there ? believe me the money u will gain the government will claim it back within millions of ways ..find a better place and even more beautiful .

No, my son is a Canadian citizen, but he was able to work;
because I was a British citizen.
